That is one of the 'subtitles' in the copy of Punch that I purchased. Shockingly, Punch is not a pr0n movie, it's a Korean drama about a lady boxer. What the meaning of that mysterious phrase was supposed to be I have yet to figure out - the subtitles were done by a drunk giraffe while tripping on acid. None of them make any sense.

Mr Mousie and I had a great time checking some of them out and trying to decipher what they mean :_)

The ebay seller claimed Punch had 'minor English mistakes' - clearly he is the type of person who would refer to a hurricane as a mild wind and an amputated limb as a small inconvenience :D

But awwww, Shin Min Ah and Joo Jin Mo look cute even while talking like extraterrestrials.

[livejournal.com profile] seven_trees's post has alerted me to something pretty darn awesome fact: the 2003 kdrama Punch has finally been subbed.

You can find it streaming here.

I have been dying to see it for aeons. First off, there is a plot: Joo Jin Mo plays a formerly successful boxer who gives it up after an opponent dies in the ring. Shin Min Ah is an aspiring female boxer and Joo Jin Mo becomes her coach. Eventually they fall in love. Did I mention that SMA had an older boxer brother who died during a match...I think you see where this is going. Mmmmmm. Plot is written just for meeeeee! Add to it the fact that SMA is likely my favorite Korean actress and that after Fashion 70s I have developed a thing for JJM, I am very very set.

I found a MV for the drama:

OK. I knew the Logan/Veronica spoilers for the finale for quite a while.

But sort of rereading them is making me see RED.

As in *stab stab die die stupid TPTB*

Spoiler and ranting )

And yet my dramas never disappoint. On the other side of the spectrum, I just read some Que Sera Sera spoilers that made me GLEE. Angry makeouts are a fiction MUST. I really need to pick up watching that…Hmmm, I want to see if anyone is uling QSS in jdramas. If not, I should do that. But yes, it's GOOD.

I love this shot, so surreal:

More traditional mush:

Plot: The most romantic melodramas often make it appear as if a love story can be the end of the world for the people involved, but reality teaches us that is rarely the case. We fall in love, make great experiences and not so great ones, and then break up. All that is left is recover, and start again. The four characters in MBC's new miniseries Que Sera, Sera always put love way down their list of priorities exactly for that reason. A successful fashion designer (Yoon Ji Hye of No Mercy for the Rude), a reserved planning director (Lee Gyu Han of My Lovely Sam Soon), a spunky clerk (Jung Yoo Mi of Family Ties), and the most energetic of event planners (Shinhwa member Eric of Super Rookie). For them love is more like a passing joy than a life-time commitment. That is what they think until they find the spark showing them otherwise.

Did I mention the KISSING???? It's like they decided to compensate for lukewarm kissing in other dramas

QSS pics with KISSING )

Some QSS MVs:

MVs here )

Also. Glee! If in love…like them ep 1 subs are out!!! YES. And also, apparently fansubbers are working on Punch! a 2003 drama with Joo Jin Mo and Shin Min Ah, about a girl whose older brother was a boxer and a guy who accidentally killed him and he feels bad so he becomes her surrogate brother and they fall in lurve. YES.

Reason 1675 why I love Mr. Mousie:

We are having dinner in a Vietnamese restaurant and I am complaining about the fact that I haven't haircut in entirely too long and as proof, I pull my bangs until they end up all the way down to the tip of my nose. He laughs and the following conversation ensues:

Cut for extreme geekiness )

We hit Barnes & Noble afterwards and I was most amused:

1. I found (and yes, bought) a novel which managed to turn Joan, 'Fair Maid of Kent' (mother of Richard II, wife of the Black Prince. If you are not into history, you are most likely to remember him as the character played by James Purefoy in A Knight's Tale) into a romantic heroine. I totally got it. It's not often you come across Edward the Black Prince novels :D

2. There was a book hideously entitled 'Stand Up history of French Revolution." Apparently standing up involved comparing Camille Desmoulins to Richard Federer and imagining what would happen if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie led the revolution in America (whaaaaaa?)

3. There was a book entitled "The Physics of Buffyverse" which made me full of glee.

4. [livejournal.com profile] crumpeteer, you'll be happy to know, I almost got Punch!. It looked awesome. I'll definitely get it later.

5. I found a manga volume of Tramps Like Us, which is the manga that was turned into Kimi Wa Petto jdrama. Amusingly, the guy even looked like MatsuJun. Speaking of that, should I watch the drama? I confess the concept really freaks me out (says the girl who is eagerly looking towards MatsuJun acting out twincest). Human pets? Twincest I can deal with. Power imbalance like that in a relationship is a bit too dom/sub for me. Is it good? Is it too freaky? Should I watch it? I am veeeeery tempted.

6. I got the sequel to Twilight. YES.

And last but not least! Hanadan is dling! YES!
