Musings of the Obsessive Kind

Still hideously Buffy-deprived (Filmi Girl and I are watching more tomorrow. If not, I give in and will watch by myself :P), I decided to check out a couple of eps of Bones I had on my hard-drive.

It's not really anything I'd watch devotedly as I am not big into procedurals, but as an occasional thing, it's not bad. More importantly, it's a pretty painless way to spend the evening: watching hot burly men and hot pretty women reenact fanfic scenarios in between boring procedural talk. I think some former fanfic writers write some of these scripts as the two eps I've watched had (a) the leading pair have to go undercover and dress-up as a couple for nebulous reasons. Heeee; and (b) heroine gets buried alive and hero has to find her and dig her out.

I approve.

Conclusion: Procedural plots are totally silly and by the numbers but my brain is overruled by hotness and fanficness of it all. Ultimately, it's a big squee of approval from my id.

I had a whole bunch of caps and comments on various things, so I thought I'd post them.

First off, continuing the theme of vampires that do not sparkle, I still adore Vampire Knight and to convince you to watch the prettiness, I bring you caps behind the cut.

Also, my rewatch of Buffy reminded me of this (because DB is in it). I hate it when shows are set in DC! The first five minutes of Bones made me LOL so hard at the geography (yes, I plan to do a selective watch of the shippy bits the show. But I hope they stay away from the outsides :))

Anyway, it's a good thing for them DB is so hot and I gave this show a second chace and liked it, because that Pilot made my eyes burn.

And I finally finished Moonlight and a few pretty caps behind cut.

I know this is incredibly Victorian of me, but I have a not-so-secret weakness for stories in which big burly men rescue non-big, non-burly women from deadly peril, even though grievously injured themselves.

Seriously, it's like they polled me on what I wanted and crammed it all in just for meeeeeee.

Oh, I so should have started with this and not the atrocious pilot.

Many many pictorial reasons for why this is awesome behind the cut. morwen_peredhil, you are going to love this ep even if you don't care about Bones.

Now, I still don't think I'll watch every ep or anything, but I will definitely engage in a happy selective viewing of various eps :)

The geography is screwed up again but I don't care because Booth is being all manly and looming and protective. And jealous. The scene with the wannabe bf was hilarious. Oh, and he is all guilt-stricken about serial killer striking again as they didn't get him last time. Yes.
