I am sure you all remember Ji Hyun Woo's ballsy confession to Yoo In Na at the end party viewing of QIHM. Well, it seems he wasn't to be stuck in one-sided love (though obviously whether they were together before that and used it as a means of announcing it, or it started afterwards, who knows).

I bawled and then I was giddy with joy! It was pretty much a perfect drama from beginning to end and is going in my Top 10 all-time dramas for sure. Fwiw, I loved the ending but I will go into more detail on that once I do my proper eps 15-16 post. That will have to wait until the weekend though, because I have to sort through 1600 (!!!!) caps.

This is a letter that's written both to you and to me at the same time. I might forget that I had ever written this letter...Or even this letter itself might disappear. For me or for you, this letter is written for whoever may live holding on to the memories. When I first happened to come into possession of this talisman, I was very curious about its cause and effect. At first, I thought that the realization of my dream was the effect. Shortly after, I thought meeting you was its effect. Then afterwards, I thought that beginning a new life in another world was the effect. But it's only now that I came to realize its effects. I am in the middle of ep 15 with subs and am literally bawling. It's ridiculous - I am as spoiled as it is humanly possible to be and yet here I am. But! But!!!!



On a different note, Bung Do is freaking insane. Bung Do has NO idea whether the talisman will still work or not, and yet he still slits his own throat without hesitation on the chance that it does and will transport him back to Hee Jin. OMFG NO WORDS. (Also, I love that it's not just HJ he would lose but this whole wonderful new world with all its new opportunities for travel and learning and experience and freedom. 17th century world is pretty much a nightmare). But seriously, Holy FUCK! And it works but only for a few minutes and oh I am bawling like a freaking lunatic and I have no idea how people watched it live because I would have DIED!

Proper post when coherent but on a final note for now, the telephone thing at the end of the drama so makes sense, seeing the crucial importance of phones in this drama and the fact that when the 'miracle' happened he was about to die yet again, with no hope of survival.

1. I don't watch that many jdramas any more, but I have fallen under the sweet, cracky spell of Shiritsu Bakaleia Koukou.

I can almost belive that this delightful half-hour a week show is based on some manga I would have been obsessed about when younger (aww, who am I kidding? I'd still obsess over it). The premise is certainly pure shoujo crack - a derelict all-boys school whose students are all dedicated to fighting merges with an upper-class, super-refined all-girls school. Heeeee..



There is a ridiculously cute OTP: she - proper, ladylike, strongwilled head of girls' school. He - scruffy, emotion-driven excellent fighter head of boys' school. There are typical shoujo situations, a spiffy soundtrack, a surprsingly winning cast, and there are the typical jdrama lessons about teamwork and loyalty. The whole set-up - refined, ladylike ladies are needed to tame macho guys who are unkempt, rough, and love fighting - is a very traditional idea stripped shamelessly bare to its bones but it works.

It pretty much encapsulates how perfect the OTP of Queen In Hyun's Man was. QIHM is not my n1. 2012 drama (though it came close), but Hee Jin/Bong Do are certainly my 2012 OTP:

I need this ep in my life ASAP! I've seen speculation that the Gaksital we see here is Kang To, donning the mask to rescue Dan. I would love it to be true (what's not to love? KT strikes me as someone who would put this on to protect someone he cares about - he is capable of immense love for the small group of people he cares for, is impulsive and hot-tempered, and has a certain disregard for rules) but I don't really think so - where would he get the mask - I am assuming they are less popular marketplace items now, with the cops hunting the wearer. And it might be too soon for him to both discover who Gaksital really is AND borrow the stuff from him.

4. I continue enjoying Dr. Jin for Song Seung Heon's sexy grimy face and his chemistry with Park Min Young. Lee Bum Soo is stealing the show. Jaejoong's character crossed an irrevocable line when he burned the village down (!!!) - I can understand what drove him to it, but there are some things you do not do and I think that would have lost him Young Rae's heart for good. JJ is a decent actor, especially for an idol, but I wish this role had a really good actor because that role has a lot of potential.

Off to watch ep 6 of A Gentleman's Dignity now.

Clearly we have entered a parallel universe, because during the public/fan screening of the final episode of Queen In Hyun's Man (which was awesome btw), Ji Hyun Woo confessed in front of fans and family that he likes Yoo Inna (who apparently deflected). Apparently, pandemonium ensued. Not surprising, seeing the bizarre attitudes to star dating in k-entertainment world.

Meeeeep. It's like a real life kdrama!
