, I saw Don yesterday. It was a lot of fun and worthwhile $10 though it didn’t crack my Top 5 Bolly movies this year (so far, and not in that order, they are Omkara, Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Krrish).

The spoilery write-up for the movie is behind the cut, but trust me, you don’t want to click it until you’ve seen the movie. I don’t care if you’ve watched the old Don until you can recite the dialogues by heart. Stay away. This is a reworking more than a remake and even such a spoiler nut as I am is glad she went into this unspoiled.

This post is a collection of some amazingly gorgeous still from two Bollywood movies I am really looking forward to: Dhoom 2 and Don.

'But why would I look at them?' ask you. 'I don't have much interest in Bollywood.' That might be true. But you should still check them out because it's a collection of handsome men and gorgeous women who have rarely looked better.

Dhoom 2 is an upcoming cops-and-robbers flick which is incredibly star-studded and blessed with so much hotness I wonder the cans of film don't explode like supernovas. Yes, it is a sequel, but no, watching Dhoom is not necessary. 2 stands alone. This time, Abhishek Bachchan's tough cop (together with his annoying sidekick played by Uday Chopra) pits his wits, his fists, and his awesome leather-wearing powers against a mysterious master thief, played by Hrithik Roshan. Actually, since Hrithik is by far the biggest star in the movie, from the previews and still and the plot line, the movie appears to be more about the robbers than the cops, but that is OK with me.

[livejournal.com profile] aliterati and I have been simply dying for this movie. Mainly because we are both sad Hrithik fangirls and the guy has never looked better and we want to see him in a non-dreadful movie (Hrithik's early choices are enough to make the staunchest shudder). But also because this is the movie that finally, finally pairs him with Aishwarya Rai, who is not only as gorgeous as he is handsome, but is probably the only Bolly female dancer who can keep up with him. There is also gorgeous Bipasha Basu who seems to have inexplicably fallen for Uday's character (who seems to be there solely to remind us not all men look like demigods), and who is, amusingly, the RL fiancee of John Abraham, the actor who played the villain in the first movie.

But anyway, without much more ado. Hrithik and Aishwarya, burning up the screen:

More hotness behind the cut )Now just tell me this wasn't the hottest thing ever?

The other picture choice of the day is Don the cooler than cool masala thriller with Shahrukh Khan (my favorite actor ever, bar none), Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor. Don is a convoluted, delicious story of mobs and doppelgangers, revenge and falling in love with who you shouldn't, and stolen identities, and daring plots. YUM.

I thought I'd have to wait until the weekend to see Don because it would be playing in a local Bolly theater that I have to drive a long way to.

BUT BUT BUT

butbutbutbutbutbut!!!!

It's being played at *gasp* normal theaters (two of them) that I can easily get to.

So I can watch it during the week!

But am still game to go this weekend with anyone who wants :)

Don, a Bollywood masala extravaganza, starring Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal, is coming to theaters THIS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Dopplegangers, mistaken identity, fast cars and Bolly love! Mafia and cops and SRK dancing! What's not to love?

I won't be able to see it this weekend (am away) but anyone interested in seeing it next weekend?

[livejournal.com profile] klmorgan? Or hey, [livejournal.com profile] aliterati, [livejournal.com profile] katranna any chance either of you will be back in town?

Today is clearly a spam day.

A few points about Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and trailers in front of it.

Thoughts on Bolly trailers )

More KANK thoughts )

Yeah, I also finished Majo No Jouken. And it almost finished me. It's a miracle I am still alive.

Final ep thoughts )

And for everyone who doesn't care for either Bollywood or doramas, I bring KITTENS. Because who doesn't like KITTENS?

Cuteness of crazy proportions behind the cut )

And what the hell, since this entry is all over the place, I'll end with a Nathan/Haley kiss from One Tree Hill, as they are the one thing that make me watch that deliciously cheesy show:

Yes, I am spamming and yes I still want to post more KANK thoughts. But for now, what I want to talk about is Don, my most anticipated Bolly movie of the rest of the year. I wasn't too interested in it (except for SRK) but I saw the trailer in front of KANK and Oh. My. Guh.

I love SRK playing this cold-blooded, dangerous dangerous man. Bad guy. And clearly having way too much fun and looking amazingly sexy to boot. Lucky lucky Priyanka. And he is going to be dancing!!! I missed his dancing in KANK though it would have been OOC there. I am EXCITED beyond belief.

Behind the cut are promos for Don )

Tomorrow, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna comes out and I am going to do my best to see it this weekend. But in any event, this is not about KANK. This is about the fact that I bring you pictures from another SRK starrer this year: Don. Don is a story about two people. One of them is an Underworld Don, ruthless evil blah blah. Another is his look-alike, a laid back street-performer who is asked by the police to take Don's place when real Don is killed. Oh, and there is a woman who blames Don for her brother's death but ends up falling in love with a look-a-like blah blah. It's a remake of a 1970s movie which was quite fun.
