I am finally watching Yamapi's Proposal Daisakusen. When it first aired, I saw first two eps and loved it, but I find it almost impossible to watch airing dramas. So now I am watching it properly, and it is SO INCREDIBLE. While I often prefer kdramas and twdramas to jdramas for various reasons, there is a certain crispness, a nuance to jdramas, the others don't have. Not to mention the pace. And Yamapi? Oh, he can break my heart. And does.

Oh, how much do I love an OTP who are best friends? Thiiiiis much. PD is a Japanese drama about Ken and Rei, who have best friends since they have been small. And Ken has been in love with Rei for years. And it stars at Rei's wedding. To another man. And Ken is given a chance to go back in time and to win her over again.

But now am off to 3:10 to Yuma. Oh, and comment of the day goes to Mr. Mousie. We are in a crowded Starbucks and he fishes through my Borders bag to see what I bought and fishes out S2 of Sumernatural, looks at it, grins, and asks, very loudly, 'So, Boytoys?' LOL. I nearly died.

Yes, I know all of three people on my flist are interested in this, but I can't help it. I am obsessed with Bednaya Nastya.

Seven episodes into Bednaya Nastya and I realized that I am fast-forwarding through all Vladimir-less scenes. I like the other stories and characters just fine, but this is a 120 episode series so a girl’s gotta make some sacrifices. And I am not about to skip the scenes with the angsty hottie. Hey, no one said I wasn’t shallow.

Just in case you want to know the likely content of my LJ in the near future, in addition to Bednaya Nastya, Farscape and Why Why Love, I just bought season 2 of Supernatural, which, with the exception of the first ep, I still haven't seen, so expect a meta storm ;)

Also, next week is the start of two Taiwanese dramas I am really looking forward to: Vic Zhou's Delicious Relationship and Wu Zun's Romantic Princess. So probably rants or raves on those as well.

You know, I would have never thought D/W would have such an open, hopeful, lovely ending as it did but even if it didn't, the scenes like the one above would make it all worthwhile...

You know, I would have never thought D/W would have such an open, hopeful, lovely ending as it did but even if it didn't, the scenes like the one above would make it all worthwhile...

I cheated and even though I am only in the middle of ep 12 of Why Why Love, I watched the last one (15), with lainemma's subs.

FUUUUUUUUUCK. I was bawling. It tore my heart out and danced on what was left. But then the ending was such sweetness. Such happy sweetness.

This is definitely one of my favorite dramas ever. And OMG, Huo Da/Jia Die are definitely one of my all time OTPs, the adorable, funny, heartbreaking woobies. And Huo Yan is just more and more awesome.

Yes, I am going back to watch 12-15 in proper order tomorrow.

Note to Self: reading bits of Atonement in the store during lunch is a bad idea as you will end up having red eyes.

It’s interesting that I love the book so, because the main protagonist (insofar as there is the ‘mainest’) is Briony, someone I never like and my opinion of her doesn’t change during the book. I love Robbie and I love Cecilia, but Briony herself I want to choke.

I don’t care for her from the start, as I cannot stand over-dramatic, ‘mememememe’ children but she remains a realistic character throughout. In fact, the story reminds me of two other works I like: John Knowles’ ‘Separate Peace’ and Lillian Helmann’s ‘The Children’s Hour.’ As in Knowles, one action leads to a future blighted, and the story is narrated by the perpetrator who I end up loathing throughout, but who ends up trying to cope with his guilt. But even more so, this makes me think of Helmann’s play.

I wonder if it will be yet another of those before-the-war British love story movies like The White Countess and The Painted Veil that had limited release but that I loved so much (though seeing it opened the Venice Festival, it will probably better known). Hey, after all, my second most favorite movie
ever is one of that category: The English Patient.

In other, unrelated news, I have to say, I really like Michael Repnin. I don’t want him to get the girl (he is too normal, what is the fun in that?) but he is certainly the best-adjusted of the lot, as Vladimir is far too busy being a Byronic hero to ever win that competition.

Yup, I am addicted to Bednaya Nastya. It’s like a guilty pleasure romance novel come to life. EEEE!

giggling and misty-eyeing and everything. So much love. Also, I am getting preliminarily obsessed with Capital Scandal but must not start anything
until I finish at least two dramas! Hmmm, must finish Lovers then…
