Just
Oh my God.
OMG, the scene where YS rescues Nana and stares Undaddy down, covering Nana with his body so Undaddy would have to kill him to get to her. I love Nana going 'wasn't this your father?' and whatever it was she didn't understand about YS and the monster his 'daddy' is becomes crystal clear to her then.

I love how she tells him not to rescue her if she is in danger because she doesn't like if he's hurt because of her - this is action Gift of the Magi because he no more could give up trying to save her than not breathe. This is going to sound odd but his losing his temper at her because he's scared for her is a good sign - it means shields are down and he can show he's scared or angry.
"At the golden triangle he went after people who killed the woman who raised him with a gun. we just need to make him like that." DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE YOU FUCKING SCUM OF THE THE EARTH UNDADDY!!!! I have no words. So, what, he wants to make it seem one of the targets killed YS' nearest and dearest? I guess that would explain why he didn't kill Nana in front of him - then he'd be the target of YS' rage. I want the ghost of Yoon Sung's father to strangle him from the grave.
I love that she won't let him put up walls and that she will talk out what bothers him (which is, how can she think he will be OK if he doesn't protect her). I love it when she tells him she knows every day is hard for him and he's in pain so she doesn't want to add to his burden - his eyes - he still can't get used to someone putting him first and thinking about what matters to him, what makes him happier. And then she adds she will make herself stronger so she can protect him. OMG.

I love how she sticks to him like glue after, in his car and similar. He so needs her, badly, for his sanity and happiness.
Target N3 wants Nana killed. You just signed your death warrant, idiot!
Ooooh, I love love love Nana and YS as partners in crime. It makes it work better, too, and more efficient. Not to mention she saves him from being caught by Prosecutor. Yet again!
The scene with Prosecutor and his father was chilling. It's as if his father is revelling in not having to hide what a monster he is any more, in front of his son.
Oh, frell, Prosecutor figured out YS was Kyung Hee's son. ARGH!!!!!!! (but the scene of YS missing his mother in the empty space that used to be hers was gorgeous and moving). And now is trapping him! Shouldn't you be out catching real criminals, freak show? Especially since you were pulled off the case?
But YS figured out it's a trap yay!!!!! ILY!!!
HOLY FUCK THEY KILLED AHJUSSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT KIND OF A DRAMA KILLS THE COMIC RELIEF, THE SOLE CONSISTENT COMIC RELIEF???
FUCK!!!!
I am not crying, I am not.
...
...
...
I wanted him to spoil Nana and YS' future kids!
Also, I bet it was the fucking fucking fucking fucking monster Undaddy who killed him and faked that it was Target n3. Oh God, how I want you to roast in hell.
This drama is going to end like IRIS, isn't it? I might as well just stop now and save myself the pain. I cried for a week, on and off, after IRIS. Except I cannot stop. Why do I do this to myself, why???
AHJUSSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh God, Yoon Sung's face. Yoon Sung's face. And then he starts screaming.
Oh my God, I just put Undaddy as the winner of worst parent ever award and seeing he beat Nic Tse's stepmom in Handsome Siblings (that woman's stated main goal in life was to torment him in every way possible), that is quite a feat.
OMG, ahjusshi is going to make it! Maybe. And Yoon Sung is trying not to cry and failing. Awwww.

Oh God, Nana, please don't leave YS' side for a second because he is probably going to go on a homicidal rampage and noooooo.
OMG, she is amazing! She can totally understand what he's thinking without being told and she tells him she used to fantasize about killing the man who killed/comaed her parents and that the look in his eyes now is how hers used to be back then and it makes her nervous.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. He tells her 'I think I understand now how my father feels.' Oh God, DO NOT TURN INTO A MONSTER please please you will regret it forever please. And you will lose Nana because I don't think you'd allow her to be with a murderer and she won't allow herself to be with one either.
Oh God, he's really lost it. UNDADDY I WANT YOU TO ROT IN HELL!!!!

OK, Yoon Sung, what you did to the Prosecutor was just low. Low low low low low. Cruel. Horribly cruel. This is the first time I want to smack you over and over until your head spins. If it wasn't for his heart, YS would be scarier than Undaddy could ever be, and now that sole thing that kept him from becoming Undaddy x 11 is put away, due to Ahjusshi's injury.

Oh God, I am crying for Prosecutor right now.
I think I will need a 30-hr vid of kittens after this ep is over.
YS is in Target 3's car and holds a knife to his throat. If he kills him, I am done with the drama - it's a valid and realistic narrative progression but I couldn't take the ensuing darkness. As I said, one IRIS is enough for a lifetime.
And he is gloating over ruining not just Target 3 but Prosecutor. I think he's turned into a monster for real, this time.
He's coming after Target 3 with a knife! Fuck. And then the old guy falls off the bridge trying to catch papers which would incriminate his son and he's barely hanging on, slipping and Yoon Sung...turns and walks away.
I think I am done with you, YS. This is pretty much equivalent to killing him whatever the outcome may be (e.g. if his son gets there on time and saves you).
Oh God. Oh my God! Memories of Nana (and how she didn't want the man killed, no matter what he did to her family), and memories of YS' own parental loss (I think he's thinking what Prosecutor would feel) bring YS back to sanity, finally, and he drops the knife and runs to rescue the man, but Target 3 sees him coming and (understandably) assuming that YS will kill him or rescue him only to ruin his son, lets go before YS gets there and plummets to his death. As YS and Prosecutor can do nothing but watch from their different vantage points.
Oh God. YS is responsible for someone's death. Not just someone's but Prosecutor's father - the man who will never let go now, never. His hopes for a normal life once this is done are gone - not with the guilt he will feel, not with Prosecutor now engaged in vengeance of his own. Oh God. Undaddy, you've succeeded. You have finally ruined his life beyond any hope of repair and have finally taken any glimmer of future away from him.

Yoon Sung's eyes. Oh.

You know, what I realized? Undaddy's 'attempt' on Nana in the beginning of ep wasn't one or a warning or anything - it was a test to see how strongly attached YS is to those he loves - and Undaddy learned what he wanted, because if YS is willing to die for them, he'd be willing to kill for them too. And that is the most cruel, disgusting thing - Undaddy took Yoon Sung's strongest, best quality - his capacity for love - and used it and turned it into something destructive and ugly and evil.
How am I supposed to sleep? If I were smart, I'd just stop now with this drama and protect my heart. But I am not smart. I am not.
Talk to me, people! I need to discuss. Desperately!

Date: 2011-07-07 02:49 am (UTC)i cried a lot, i felt for YS, for the prosecutor, i don't want to lose ahjussi, i'm beyond angry with undaddy, more than never he deserves death. and in the end of the day, nana remains being ys' human side and his hope for a better world.
the preview for ep 14 killed me. i think that YS is really done with undaddy this time.

Date: 2011-07-07 02:53 am (UTC)Nana really is the sole link to normalcy and sanity for YS. I love how just the memory of her literally snapped him out of homicidal rage.
I am so terrified now for YS - not only is the guilt going to eat him alive, Prosecutor will never end it now. I am genuinely ceasing to believe this will have a happy ending.
How could Undaddy do it to anyone, let alone a kid he raised (for what that nightmare upbringing was worth) and the son of his rescuer? How?

Date: 2011-07-07 03:04 am (UTC)And that is the key difference btw YS and Undaddy - YS snapped out of his rage while Undaddy revels in his. I think he just likes killing and torture by now (and maybe always).
I want Nana to comfort YS so badly, and for YS to let her.

UGH >:(
I don't think I can handle the rest of these episodes if Yoon Sung blocks himself from the ones he loves, because he needs to finish things more than ever. However, I also think Nana is going to butt in no matter what, thank goodness, and hopefully accept what's happened. Without her, he might go crazy. a;dslfjaldsfj

Date: 2011-07-07 03:37 am (UTC)I don't think he'll try to block off to protect them - tried, didn't work. He might try to because he thinks he shouldn't have them/sully them/etc/get revenge done asap so Undaddy is done too. But, agreed, Nana is never going to give up on him and is totally going to butt in no matter what.
He's good way to insanityland already and I agree, he needs Nana so badly not to slide into darkness and despair full-tilt.

Date: 2011-07-07 04:09 am (UTC)Seriously I want to be squealing with you over this episode. I already AM in my head!
If I didn't have exams, this would be my evening :(
But seriously, shit just got serious and MORE real. I wouldn't have thought this drama could go there and STILL keep its momentum but shit it just keeps going!!
UnDaddy is unreal in ho much he can do but he IS unhinged and manipulative and a dkjidfij!! (insert a million expletives here)
Nana DOES have ovaries of steel! I'm with YS, I want to know what SHE's eating too so I can have me some! That girl just never fails to impress!
I would have bawled my heart out with YS, if Ahjusshi hadn't made it.
And seriosuly, actor of the year is Lee Min Ho. His eyes are amazing!!
At first, a part of me wondered why the heck Prosecutor wouldn't DO anything when he suspected CH was going to act but then I guess when you think of how much he loves his Daddy and how hard it is for ANY child to turn their parent in, it makes perfect sense. I feel so bad for him. It's a pretty messed up relationship but hell to see target 3 kill himself to save his son? Shit just got real.
And YS almost stabbing Undaddy!! Stop messing with the poor boy you heartless soul!!!

Date: 2011-07-07 04:17 am (UTC)LMH is amazing - you know exactly how he feels when everything except for his eyes is covered.
Yeah, I feel awful for Prosecutor - he loves his father who, despite being a psycho, was nothing but a good and loving father for him - he was even willing to die for him, which makes him 100000x better as a person or parent than Undaddy.
Nana is amazing. YS so needs her, not just to be his lookout or have his back in a fight but to keep his sanity and to give him love and hope and warmth and to finally know what it feels for someone to care for you unconditionally and put you first - he never had that before, he must be beyond screwed up.
Undaddy is a brilliant terrifying monster.

Ok, so if I think about this logically this drama is very good but nothing is new, old plot different story, but can I just say I am GOING INSANE OVER THIS DRAMA? I don't know what is happening to me!!!! IT IS SO GOOD AND ADDICTED AND AMAZING! AND FINALLY I CAN SEE LMH IN SOMETHING KICKASS AND ADDICTIVE AND WONDERFUL!
YS was so wonderful in this episode, we got protective YS, and happy YS, and City Hunter YS, and dark YS, and then finally we got back the YS we know and love. Also, he is probably going to feel remorse for the death of the guy at end. He better not though!

Date: 2011-07-07 11:06 am (UTC)I was pretty sure YS's words about not wanting an eye for an eye revenge were a sure way of telling us he would not get his way. I was prepared for it. But I still felt like I was punched in the gut when he turned away. Poor YS, so damaged. He needs years of hurt/comfort scenes with NN to help him. That means he can't die and he'll have a HEA with his OTP, right? Right? I half feel like not watching anymore episodes until the drama ends so that I'll know the ending beforehand but that would be cowardly. I'll man up and stick with the drama til the end.
NN/YS...They've become my favorite OTP ever. They're just so perfect together. I've never been so onboard with both leads. They're both made of awesome in their own right. In any other drama NN's character would have been weaker and overshadowed by YS (A Man Called God, I'm looking at you with my evil eye even if i still love you in all your WTFness glory) but not here.
I agree completely re-Undaddy's motives at the beginning of the episode. And it also has to be him that made it seem like KJS was behind Ajusshi's hit and run. In a way I'm kind of disappointed they made him this evil. The drama is awesome, no question, but would have been even more so if he'd been painted in shades of gray instead of just black black black. Especially since I'm pretty sure that he'll die at the end of the drama and will finally understand he's been misguided etc...
Now I understand why they made YJ's father target number 3 and not number 4, just before the president. The conflict in the last part of the drama will be magnified 10 times now.
But still, I don't think an HEA is completely out of question at this point. It's getting dark but there's still hope. Remember that mp3 player YJ put in his father's pocket? He'll get to hear his conversation with YS and might deduce he didn't intend to kill him. And are we sure he's dead? Poetic justice would have him in a coma like NN's father. And technically YS didn't kill him. True, he's responsible but only indirectly. And, even if he had not turned away and went straight to catch him, since YJ's dad voluntarily let go, he probably would have done the same thing anyway.
I know I'm just clutching at straws but I so want this to have a somewhat happy ending (ie: neither NN or YS die). The emotional pay off would be phenomenal.
This is getting long but I can't resist telling you what my obsession with this drama made me do. You know I was planning on a BOF rewatch to get my LHM's fix right? Well, this vague idea has somehow morphed into a monster resulting in my spending $80 on the French subbed version of the dvd set + hours spent re-downloading all the episodes but this time in 720p so that I can coo over the pretty while waiting for the dvd set to arrive....and I cooed all over the pretty until 4:30 am last night. I'm a hopeless case.

Date: 2011-07-08 02:45 am (UTC)I really keep thinking about Time Between and Wolf, which is much darker and with a much more damaged protagonist than CH is, and that had a hopeful ending (btw, have you ever watched it? It would be totally up your alley).
Yes, it was clear YS was going to confront darkness inside himself before this was over but oh, how it hurt to watch. And I love how steady and sane Nana is beside him.
Re: Undaddy. I kinda like that he's super-evil. I have a fondness for truly awful antagonists plus emotional conflict of guy being ultimate enemy but also father figure is delicious.

after this, it's almost sure YS will either die or live far far away from Nana... or something.
After the last scene I was pulling my hair and saying "oh no, it's over it's over it's over"
If this ends a la IRIS, they better make another drama with an alternate ending with YS and Nana buying tomatoes for their kids or something... I NEED a happy ending for them!
