I've started to watch fancams of DH filming. That's it. I. Need. To. Stop.

Also, the soompi thread for that drama is somewhere I try to steer far from. Not only are the character wars full of flamey ragey fun (suprisingly, the shipper wars aren't too bad, but the 'Baekhee=awesome/psycho; Hyemi=awesome/bitch' wars are craaazy), but I get the feeling I am old enough to be any of the participants' mother. Their discussions of life and romance, regardless of their shippy preferences, make me grin nostalgically and a bit worriedly.

Anyway, my slate is pretty open - other than DH and and Gloria, I am not really following anything actively (I decided I am going to wait for My Princess to finish and then binge). So I decided to check out Joe Cheng's newest, Channel X, in which he's a news anchor accused of the murder of his fiancee. It looks gritty and good about 5 mins in!

Just a word of warning.

I've been watching Channel X since the beginning - it's the worst drama I have ever seen in a long time.

Just godawful, and I love Joe, but both he and Amber are sorely miscast.

Worst yet - the story is unbelievably stupid and senile.

Sadly, GTV stopped production two weeks ago, to rewrite the entire script for the second half, and production just resumed 3 days ago. It's like Mary's situation but an even bigger mess.

I feel bad for everyone involved. I had such high expectations, and I love this attempt to do a thriller noir. GTV honchos are really imbecilic - releasing comments like "oh, viewers just want their rom-coms, they can't appreciate an attempt to do something different and meaningful."

Oh, I can appreciate that all right, and so can most TW viewers (see. B&W - beloved by viewers). What viewers can't accept is a moronic story, horrible execution, and bad acting all around.

I've been so upset I can't write about this drama, so I apologize for unloading here. It's just....not what I expected. Sigh. Poor Joe, he looked great, though.

Oh my God, really? I've survived som twdrama horrors (including Joe's Summer x Summer) which made Mary seem like Shakespeare but...that bad?

Oh my God. Now I am morbidly curious.

I was fine with episode 1, it was kinda boring after the initial exciting dark start. But then the drama just kept plodding along, with no tension, excitement, or coherent plot for such a thriller concept. It's like a horse with weak legs, that just collapse when you put a sack of potatos on its back.

Ooomph, it was painful to watch. I keep watching every week out of morbid curiosity myself for how much worse it can get. And its stays abysmal. The ratings keep falling, and GTV lost its 1st place crown for the first time last week, in 2 years!

Awwww Dangermousie, I'm saddened to hear you'd resume watching MP after it is finished. Perhaps, you didn't like it enough. :(

Anyhow, today is DH day! Happy watching!
