If I ship Han Xin/Yueji, am I RPShipping?

Or is it only half-RPShipping, because I am not sure she was a real person?

OMFG, Xiang Yu tames feral horses by power of his stare alone. He is going to start his own version of "Chuck Norris facts."

Also he brings rabbits to court Lady Yu which cracks me up to no end. She is not impressed.

Actually, I totally love her. She is basically barely bothering to give him the time of day and everybody is all 'wtf is wrong with you? He's a hero, the greatest hero around! Eleventy!' and she tells them that yes, he is, and that is why she doesn't want him. He will need a strong woman to accompany him in his battles and she has no desire for that sort of life. She wants a stable peaceful life and thus needs a hero like she needs a hole in the head. ILY, Lady Yu!

Beautiful and pragmatic and awesome! (And seeing how they ended up, she might have been better off sticking with it and picking some nameless provincial lord).

In the first five minutes, we have Xiang Yu fighting ten spearmen empty-handed. He throws away his spear because he's too badass to need it to beat ten people to a pulp and is barely winded afterwards.

This drama and I are going to be friends.

I like the slightly washed-out look (though all the caps in this post are after I played with contrast and saturation to prettify them) - this is a pretty grim story (some people got buried alive less than two minutes in) and it seems to work. Also, Hu Jun continues to be awesome. I don't think he's particularly good-looking, but he is so ridiculously magnetic, it doesn't matter. This has a huge cast and I am still getting used to everyone. It is rather slow-paced but I like that.

Also, our first glimpse of Lady Yu as she is wearing all white and cuddling a rabbit, trying to save it from the hunters. I loled and loled.

I am pretty sure I will ship her and Xiang Yu quite hard (I mean, their first meeting is when he saves her from soldiers bent on gang-rape)...

Plus, on a purely pragmatic note, she is a beautiful noblewoman in a violent, horrible time. Finding the best warrior possible to protect her seems a common-sense bet. Dude does dispatch a mini-army sent after her and her brother with less trouble than I would have offing a mosquito.

But for now, I am all about them:

He's an exiled noble, who's pretty much starving to death until she finds him.

Tbh, I am kinda obsessed with his character.

Anyway, will definitely watch more.

OMFG EVERY OTHER DRAMA IS ON HOLD

asjsunjujrcfgvuhjdkrujfkmhjgfkgjhfkhgkfhg I am literally making barely human noises because I just got my hands on The Stories of the Han. What is it? It's a 50 ep cdrama from 2005 all about Xiang Yu (and Liu Bang, of course). My obsession Hu Jun (OMG have you seen him in Demi Gods and Semi Devils) plays Xiang Yu. And there is a lot of shippy stuff with him and Consort Yu. Check out this MV (spoils for ultimate fate of Consort Yu in case you didn't know it already).

Horse-riding! Her riding to his battles! Rescues from fiery death! Coed naked bathing! Hurt/comfort! Swords everywhere! OMFG it's everything I want in an otp.

aaodgjhuikfunjgyjgdkmgyufktvfhjfkjhkfhfkh

I have been obsessed with them as an OTP since I saw them as the secondary pairing in The Myth (scene which literally gave me hysterics bad enough to make me puke involved them). To have a whole drama where it's a big part of the storyline - I am going to die of hyperventilation!

For anyone who needs a quick primer - Xiang Yu was a legendary general who overthrew the Qin Empire. Eventually he and his one-time ally Liu Bang became fell out about who should rule China and got into a major civil war. Considering that Liu Bang is styled "Father of the Han," you can figure out who won that one. Concubine Yu was Xiang Yu's consort and a legendary beauty. Their love story is the basis of a lot of art, including "Farewell My Concubine," the opera which gave the title to the famous movie.

Here is a VERY spoilery scene from the drama. OMFG this is going to be my obsession, isn't it? I am already sniffling just from the clip.

This is going to tide me over nicely until the Feng Shao Feng/Liu Yi Fei movie airs. And the Chen Jian Bing drama. And the Daniel Wu/Yang Mi movie. (Not that I am complaining, but why the sudden movie/drama obsession with Xiang Yu?).
