The Stories of the Han - first two eps
Aug. 29th, 2011 01:03 amIn the first five minutes, we have Xiang Yu fighting ten spearmen empty-handed. He throws away his spear because he's too badass to need it to beat ten people to a pulp and is barely winded afterwards.

This drama and I are going to be friends.
I like the slightly washed-out look (though all the caps in this post are after I played with contrast and saturation to prettify them) - this is a pretty grim story (some people got buried alive less than two minutes in) and it seems to work. Also, Hu Jun continues to be awesome. I don't think he's particularly good-looking, but he is so ridiculously magnetic, it doesn't matter. This has a huge cast and I am still getting used to everyone. It is rather slow-paced but I like that.
Also, our first glimpse of Lady Yu as she is wearing all white and cuddling a rabbit, trying to save it from the hunters. I loled and loled.

I am pretty sure I will ship her and Xiang Yu quite hard (I mean, their first meeting is when he saves her from soldiers bent on gang-rape)...

Plus, on a purely pragmatic note, she is a beautiful noblewoman in a violent, horrible time. Finding the best warrior possible to protect her seems a common-sense bet. Dude does dispatch a mini-army sent after her and her brother with less trouble than I would have offing a mosquito.

But for now, I am all about them:

He's an exiled noble, who's pretty much starving to death until she finds him.

Tbh, I am kinda obsessed with his character.

Anyway, will definitely watch more.

Date: 2011-09-01 11:14 pm (UTC)As to hot guys, do you prefer your Xiang Yus looking like Hu Jun, Daniel Wu, FSF, Peter Ho or other? That will help me narrow down my search :P

Seeing how this is a Chinese period drama, I suppose the scene you capped is the equivalent of hardcore porn...
