Remember that Frozen Flower movie I am so interested in (the Korean gay epic one)?

Well, there is apparently a clip of the sex scene between Bodyguard and Queen (with King watching...family values!) when King makes his boyfriend sleep with his wife and I am amused to note Queen doesn't seem to object after a bit :D

Also, whoa! And that's the censored version. K-movies are quite a different beast from chastity of kdramas.

(There is apparently a gay sex scene in the movie too, but no clips have surfaced on youtube so far, more's the pity.)

This shot from the Vogue photoshoot relating to the upcoming Korean gay period epic Frozen Flower, with the three leads, is gorgeous. I didn't like the rest of the shoot as much, but this is striking.

A few more shots from the movie )

This reminds me, I started the kdrama Spring Day, one of whose leads is Jo In Sung (the hunky bodyguard lead in the movie) and I like it so far, 3 eps in. Mainly because it has one of those deliciously dysfunctional (yet not super-evil) families kdramas love: Dad is a detached workaholic. Oldest son is sweet and hard-working and hot and doctorish. He also hasn't seen his Mom since he was 10 when she left to enable her husband to marry a bar hostess. New wife is a former bar hostess and dislikes oldest and is all about her 'baby', with her idea of maternal care to guilt him into doing what she wants. JIS is the youngest son who is acting out because his family is pushing him to become a surgeon which is a really bad choice for him because as he puts it he hates sick people, is terrified of blood, loathed medical school and fainted in anatomy. He is also really high-strung which is one thing all of JIS characters have in common...hmmmm. Heroine is a village person who was mute from emotional issues but fell in love with awesome older brother who made her talk and smile and be happy again. But now he is in a coma and I foresee her falling for his dorky younger sibling.

The trailer for the upcoming Korean period epic Frozen Flower, about a gay Korean King and his bodyguard lover (Joo Jin Mo and Jo In Sung, respectively) has finally come out.

It looks incredible:

I have also found caps from it on soompi:

Caps from trailer. Jo In Sung centric but it's not like that is a bad thing )

I have no idea what the message of the movie would be, but I figure 'don't make your lover sleep with your wife' should figure somewhere in there.

Amusing side note: Jo In Sung is the guy who a lot of people (he was the frontrunner in internet polls) including yours truly really wanted for Domyouji (even if objectively speaking I knew he was too old). Now I am imagining Domyouji swanning about as a gay bodyguard chief and LOLing at the image that presents :)

1. I have read that Frozen Flower, that Korean period gay epic movie that comes out at the end of December, has had rights bought in the American market. While this is pretty vague as to what it means, the possibility of seeing Jo In Sung as a hottie bi bodyguard having an affair with a moody king, on the big screen, is pretty glee-inducing indeed.

2. I am halfway through ep 8 of My Lucky Star and it continues to be totally perfect. The scene in the rain and the giddy morning after are some of the cutest drama scenes ever. Also, I know why the angst monster will hit soon: TQ and ZX are so compatible, so functional, so good together, and such lovely people, that otherwise drama would end on ep 8 :)

3. I saw Kevin Smith's Zac and Miri make a porno yesterday and it was incredibly hilarious and also (oddly) quite romantic. Highly recommended. Am amused that under its R-rated skin the movie seems to hold the very traditional notion that sex without love is meaningless...

4. I swear, some of the HyeRin/DongChul shippers at soompi are beginning to remind me of the crazy subset of Harmonians. Fine, I got used to them declaring it's the bestest love to ever hit Korean dramas when the individuals in question are not only heavily involved with other people but have met (very briefly) two? three times? But now they are saying that the girl DC is canonically in love with, Grace, is (a) crazy as a loon and thus dangerous and unworthy of the dear hero (on the evidence of brief preview which shows her in a hopsital being treated for depression. Because her Mob father forcibly separated her from her OTP) and (b) DC doesn't really love her, despite all the canon, because he only declared ILY because she's been after him for years and he finally gave in out of sheer exhaustion (not really remembeing the whole, her father made him promise to give her up in exchange for saving his family deal). ARGH. Seriously, theoretically I have no objection to DC eventually falling for HR or whatever. Years pass, people change. But as it stands now? Give me a break! And the way crazy shippers are going about it, even if it does happen, I've been put off it for life. But then, they also seem to think that Dong Wook, the one 'pure' character in this story, the one who was tortured for protests against totalitarianism, the one who wanted to marry a woman who was raped and expecting the rapist's child, the one who would do anything for his brother, is secretly evil and as soon as he learns about the fact that he is not biologically related to DongChul will go after him evilly because he is just as evil as his murdering biological father. The only grounds for it (other than his justifiably being angry at a man who had his bro beat up and put in jail)? They prefer the woman he loved first with her sexy sexy rapist. And as currently he is with HyeRin, he is an obstancle to that aforementioned great HR/DC love. ARGH.

(in addition to it being Friday)

1.

From upcoming ep 23 of East of Eden. *glees with her DC/Grace-shipping heart* Finally, she is getting and he is giving a proper hug. None of that her hugging him from the back, or his restraining himself from having his arms go around her, nonsense. And it's even better than the hug at the end of 22 (with hair-stroking!) because it totally looks like a crushing hug. YAY! I have no idea if this ship is doomed or even the final endgame for the drama, but this makes me happy.

(Side note: if ever shippers turned me off a ship before it even began, it's the DC/HR shippers at soompi. I have no idea if it happens, but if it does, I am irritated by it as a concept! I might have liked it (Lee Da Hae who plays HR is a huge favorite) but their rabid insistence of OMGsuperawesomenessofthisshipknowsnobounds! when the characters only briefly met twice and are heavily involved with other people, drives me bonkers).
