Shall you be a Nun and serve the Lord or shall you travel via a gilded boat on the river of sin with a former convict for company?

Obviously the latter.

Don't any of you talk me out of it. My next bingy kdrama is All In starring Lee Byung-Hun and Song Hye Kyo.

I mean, how could I resist! In addition to the usual childhood love stuff, he is a former convict! And she is a Nun who gives it up to become a Las Vegas dealer! And there is Engrish!

So, yes, we have a heroine who goes from this (left) to that (right):

Is it for the love of this?

Well, at least men in prison get great arm muscles:

And she can get this, which is probably not something she can get from Jesus:

[livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow got annoyed with the hero, I remember, but I have a much much higher tolerance for bastardy in a hero than she does (I loved QSS). Yesssss...my precious, I shall enjoy you.

There are even, apparently, cowboy hats. And Han Ji Min (Capital Scandal!) plays the younger version of SHK's character and Ji Sung (my newest crush) is in it as well. I shall ogle him as he plots his evil deeds. What could be better?

Please, someone, tell me there is amnesia and a happy ending.

Of course, if my Lobbyist DVDs arrive, all bets are off. I am yearning to see 'Song Il Gook gets beaten to a pulp for the love of a woman' with such a degree of fervor that it probably says something really unhealthy about me. Not that I care.

I have an EotS MV in my favorites I should post for you. Not that he gets beat into a pulp but it's all "EPIC HOPELESS ONE SIDED ETERNAL EPIC SACRIFICIAL TRUE LOVE!!!!!"

(and really spoilery)

All In...well, I didn't last long(Lesbiassparrow sent me her DVDs) for typical kdramareasons for me, but is you can survive the horrid engrish at the beginning, you should be good to go.

If I could last for eps and eps of Engrish in Love story in Harvard, I can take anything :)

I think I was more traumatized by the actor's giant teeth than anything. Plus she didn't spend long enough as a nun. *sigh*

LOL.

Maybe she should have hooked up with priest hero of Love Letter?

LOL. Giant teeth? ROFL. Oh you amuse me so. I don't think he has giant teeth. In fact IMO he is quite appealing in a very masculine way. He was great in A Bittersweet Life alongside Shin Min Ah.

I know many people like the actor but somehow he's never clicked with me. He's a pretty good actor though.

He is going to be in a movie with Kimura Takuya and Josh Hartnett, btw. I think my brain will explode.

Yeah, Lee Byung Hun is a great actor.

Now that you mention giant teeth, I can't help but think Crazy King from Hong Gil Dong has teeth with a diameter of a blooming flowers. I know I'm cruel. But it is rather amazing that I couldn't help but stare *ROFL*

I loved All in. And later, LBH and SHG ended up together in RL (although broken up now)!

I did not see any bastardy in hero...hmm...

From what I remember, she objected to his not telling her he was alive.

Lobbyist had too much Engrish for me and too much of it's own view on the arms trade. May be one day. :D

I like how snugly Lee Byung-Hun looks near the lady's chest. Still, looks like an old style kdrama and they usually drag the soul out of me with their dragging.

Yes, well, Lobbyist was centred around the 2 leads' dealings in arms trade and was quite 'gangsta' American for me :D The parts which I enjoyed the most was actually the childhood part, pre-migration to America. I had a looooooooooooot of fun oggling at SIG in sharp suits, though. And the girl wore lovely, lovely outfits! ^^

You nailed it. But I hope to get back to it as I loved the main leads.May be I'll ff all the "gangsta" bits as I did with "Time of Dog and Wolf" and just enjoy the OTP.

I generally like the 'gangsta' bits in dramas (did in ToDW) so I don't think it will bug me in Lobbyist.

If I was able to survive Engrish in Love story in Harvard, I will survive any Engrish :P

I don't really care if they glamorize arms trade or whatever, because short of advocating baby-killing as a profession, I'll be OK with anything as long as it is entertaining.

Re: All In. Yeah, it's an older kdrama. I like those fine (loved Beautiful Days) but they are slower paced.

This Harvard thing sounds scary. :D

Oh no, it is not that. Me likes gangster movies. ;D
For me the bits about arms trade and the gangsta bits in Kdramas (almost all dramas with exception of "War of Money") seem to be naive and too far-fetched, that is all. As you it doesn't worry me in a slightest as long as ithe drama is entertaining there is a good OTP as in "Time of Dog and Wolf". I have my ff button when "WHAT?" factor gets to be too mich.

Re: All In. Yeah, it's an older kdrama. I like those fine (loved Beautiful Days) but they are slower paced.

It depends for me, I never thoguth I would get back to "Winter Sonata" and watch the whole of it but I did. I never say never anymore.. ;D

The Harvard thing is a scary. The OTP was adorable so I lasted a long time, but even I finally bailed.

Yup. I ff a lot.

At least not when it involves BYJ as an inducement :P

Eeee! I have All In as well :) I think this is the drama that started off SHK and LBH's on-site romance (yes I know I sound stalkerish, LOL). Has your Lobbysist DVD arrived yet??? I can't wait to see how you like it!
