All In for All In...
Apr. 11th, 2008 06:46 pmShall you be a Nun and serve the Lord or shall you travel via a gilded boat on the river of sin with a former convict for company?

Obviously the latter.
Don't any of you talk me out of it. My next bingy kdrama is All In starring Lee Byung-Hun and Song Hye Kyo.
I mean, how could I resist! In addition to the usual childhood love stuff, he is a former convict! And she is a Nun who gives it up to become a Las Vegas dealer! And there is Engrish!
So, yes, we have a heroine who goes from this (left) to that (right):

Is it for the love of this?

Well, at least men in prison get great arm muscles:

And she can get this, which is probably not something she can get from Jesus:

lesbiassparrow got annoyed with the hero, I remember, but I have a much much higher tolerance for bastardy in a hero than she does (I loved QSS). Yesssss...my precious, I shall enjoy you.
There are even, apparently, cowboy hats. And Han Ji Min (Capital Scandal!) plays the younger version of SHK's character and Ji Sung (my newest crush) is in it as well. I shall ogle him as he plots his evil deeds. What could be better?
Please, someone, tell me there is amnesia and a happy ending.
Of course, if my Lobbyist DVDs arrive, all bets are off. I am yearning to see 'Song Il Gook gets beaten to a pulp for the love of a woman' with such a degree of fervor that it probably says something really unhealthy about me. Not that I care.

Date: 2008-04-12 09:13 am (UTC)I like how snugly Lee Byung-Hun looks near the lady's chest. Still, looks like an old style kdrama and they usually drag the soul out of me with their dragging.

Date: 2008-04-12 10:47 am (UTC)You nailed it. But I hope to get back to it as I loved the main leads.May be I'll ff all the "gangsta" bits as I did with "Time of Dog and Wolf" and just enjoy the OTP.

Date: 2008-04-12 03:14 pm (UTC)I don't really care if they glamorize arms trade or whatever, because short of advocating baby-killing as a profession, I'll be OK with anything as long as it is entertaining.
Re: All In. Yeah, it's an older kdrama. I like those fine (loved Beautiful Days) but they are slower paced.

Oh no, it is not that. Me likes gangster movies. ;D
For me the bits about arms trade and the gangsta bits in Kdramas (almost all dramas with exception of "War of Money") seem to be naive and too far-fetched, that is all. As you it doesn't worry me in a slightest as long as ithe drama is entertaining there is a good OTP as in "Time of Dog and Wolf". I have my ff button when "WHAT?" factor gets to be too mich.

It depends for me, I never thoguth I would get back to "Winter Sonata" and watch the whole of it but I did. I never say never anymore.. ;D
