...to announce that the lack of subtitled Kame/Nun is presently killing my soul!
I want my starving boxers and chirpy novices!
*weeps in emo*
If I had a dollar for every time I checked for subs, I'd be rich.
But this isn't about it. Per
calledinvain, who is really really good about finding out stuff like this:
There are rumors that there will be an upcoming live action adaptation of Peach Girl. With Yamapi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made a loud, gulpy-sounding noise when I read this.
I love Peach Girl. It's total shoujo. It was my top candidate for 'should be made into a drama' award (I try to erase the horrible Taiwanese drama out of my mind).
And now it might happen?
With Yamapi? He would be a perfect Kairi.
OMG
OMG OMG
Please.

Date: 2008-01-14 04:32 pm (UTC)I mean I would hope not because I might totally check out that drama despite my lack of Yamapi fangirlness but I'm worried.

Date: 2008-01-14 04:36 pm (UTC)The manga has a pretty definite ending though, so they would be hard-pressed to make it open-ended.

Date: 2008-01-14 04:46 pm (UTC)askskl we'd both be rich! I am so desperate to watch this where I can actually understand even if watching it without subs has led to me giggling every five seconds and exploding with glee every time Kame does anything remotely adorable (which seems to be a lot!).
I don't know Peach Girl but I'm a little bit meh in general about Yamapi's acting!

Date: 2008-01-14 04:49 pm (UTC)Peach Girl is a very cute shoujo manga (and anime) about Momo, who is a high schooler whose tan, sun-bleached hair appearance makes people think she is a play girl. That's not true as she only used to be on the swim team and tans easily. Momo's 'friend' Sae always goes for what Momo wants, so when Sae asks who Momo likes, Momo (who likes the quiet, good-looking Touji, someone she's known for years), points her finger completely randomly at some guy in the hallway to get Sae off track. The guy she points at is Kairi, the attractive school flirt. Sae makes her move (of course) but Kairi sees right through her. And he also decides to chase Momo because hey, she likes him, right? So she should totally be easy to date, right? It's part mischief, part easy attraction (she's cute after all) but Momo is NOT interested. She thinks.
I sort of adore Kairi, and as a Yamapi fangirl can so see him do it.
That'll be fun to watch, 'cause I loved the anime

Date: 2008-01-14 06:11 pm (UTC)I have no interest in Peach Girl(I had it recced to me once but when I looked it up, it didn't appeal) but will likely end up watching it for Yamapi and Aragaka Yui(which could be interesting, as they were girlfriend and boyfriend but not OTP in Dragonzakura)

Date: 2008-01-14 06:45 pm (UTC)Usually it takes a week or so for fast subbers, so realistically I am not expecting to see it until late in the week, but it doesn't stop me from hoping.
I don't think PG manga/anime is your thing, it's very very shoujo. But I have no idea how the drama will be. HK jdrama had a completely different vibe and emphasis than the manga.

Date: 2008-01-14 11:46 pm (UTC)As for Peach Girl with Yamapi... ouch. I tried to watch the TW version about a year ago, and it's still burning me. Despite my intense fangirling over Vaness Wu. I presume the manga was better?

Date: 2008-01-15 03:26 pm (UTC)Re: Peach Girl. I adore Vanness but the drama was awful, and since it's old, it actually ended before all the really cool (to me) stuff in the manga happened, about Vanness' character background and his relationship with the heroine etc. Manga is much much better. If you like anime, the anime of PG is pretty short (24 eps) but fun and close to the manga.

Date: 2008-01-15 12:30 pm (UTC)Therefore, I find it QUITE exciting that Yamapi would be in a Japanese version. If only for the fact that we know there will be lots of charming goofiness and a potential resolution to the OTP at the end of the series! (not that I didn't LOVE the ending of ProDai and KurosagI, of course, but still)

Date: 2008-01-15 03:29 pm (UTC)Yamapi would totally make an awesome Kairi.
