Kdrama related randomness...
Aug. 14th, 2007 04:42 pmI am so torn. There are three current dramas I love (Coffee Prince, Time Between Dog and Wolf and Why Why Love) but I obviously can't watch all three at once. What to do, what to do...
Anyway.
Mmmmm. Jo In Sung, who totally blew me away in A Dirty Carnival as a struggling mobster, and whose rich, screwed-up woobie was the best thing about Something Happened in Bali, has another movie.
A period one. With swordfighting and horseriding. And the OTP in it is two men.
He certainly likes doing different/off-beat things. I mean, The King and the Clown was a big deal partially because of how conservative a society Korea is so...this is unusual. Am really looking forward to it but I maintain that I must see a story where he is not miserable 80% of the time and this will probably not end well either.
Couple of pics of JIS.

And apparently he is enlisting after this movie, so it's the last thing for a couple of years. I know Korea has mandatory military service but I am wondering what on earth they do with all these actors. Seriously? That's got to be bizarre, to be a comanding officer to a celebrity.
And because I was thinking of Bali, here is a mini-picspam of the other male lead in it, So Ji Sub.
aka 'Guy who is destined to die in every drama ever': Bali, MISA, upcoming Cain and Abel (well, I don't know how that one ends but seeing he is a mob assassin, I don't see him skipping happily into the sunset).
Or if you want to be more cheerful in your nick choices, 'Mr. Hipbones' (because it was the first shot of him in Bali and I went WHOA).
Some pics:

This gif found on soompi cracks me up. Oh soompiers, never change!

Date: 2007-08-14 08:57 pm (UTC)It's like 'guy who will never, ever get the girl' only more dramatic.
And what is he wearing in that second to last one? The hat alone would be terrifying enough.

Date: 2007-08-14 09:07 pm (UTC)Yup. Because he might get the girl, only to die horribly afterwards, leaving the poor girl to commit suicide by jumping in front of a truck. See Misa. On second thought, don't.

You'd think he'd be strong enough to resist a gang of maddened stylists...

Date: 2007-08-14 09:39 pm (UTC)WOAH! Since when did So Ji Sub become so hot?
I guess two years in the military were highly beneficial in his case :P Though to be fair, he was pretty hot in Bali, I just wasn't interested in his character but was all about JIS's one.

Date: 2007-08-14 10:42 pm (UTC)Hmm, if you really liked "Something happened in Bali": Jo In Sung has another drama, "The Piano" . It has:
- step-sibling love story (the guy is the lead from "Green Rose")
- JJS plays real brother of heroine, damaged angsty woobie.
"Piano" a bit similar to "Something happened in Bali" for me so I only watched it in fast-forward mode (too much angst!!) but I liked JJS there TERRIBLY and "Green Rose" guy was also very awesome.
