OMG, really must get to all the replies today.
But this is not a post about that.
I am about halfway through the awesomeness of Lovers (ep 10).
Guuuuh. Dramas, what are you doing to me? Now you are making me root with every fiber of my being for the hero to ditch his pregnant, nice girlfriend and instead take up with the doctor next door.
Hey, this is even worse than rooting for sibcest :P (Huge kudos to the drama for being the first time in my life I could really understand and buy this scenario). But OMG, the way he looks at her and the way she looks at him, the fact that after a few months she knows more about him, as a person, than his gf does after years, and above all, the crazy chemistry between the leads? (I see why the crazy people at soompi are rpshipping them together).
I literally shrieked at the scene where she comes home to find him waiting for her outside the apartment. The longing in his eyes. And she talks and talks more and more to fill the silence and he just keeps looking. And the the HUG. It seriously deserves the capital letters. She is yelling and he pulls her into his arms and her face! And then OMG, they pull apart a little and omg omg omg omg, he traces her lower lip with his thumb and I die. I die I die I die. And they still like this and then he walks off and she frozen. And she takes a few tottery steps and collapses onto her knees. And he is driving and he has to pull over repeatedly because he is so overwhelmed and he is just burying his head in his hands.
OMG.
And the next morning he comes to her office and she is 'you came to say it was a mistake?' and he says 'I came to clarify that I did it yesterday because I wanted to.' And he says it can't be.
That is why I can't help but ship them. My biggest fictional kink, bigger than anything in the whole fictional world is a strong-willed person being swept out of control by their feelings. That is the thing. He has never been so taken by his gf. So off-kilter, so off-control, so overwhelmed. He liked her but he didn't need her. But he cannot forget Mi Joo no matter what.
The thing with gf, it's clear he is only staying with her for the sake of the baby (his parents abandoned him, he is not about to do it to a child). And he is alive with Mi Joo as opposed to playing a role. Mi Joo is second to NO ONE for him, but with gf, he is always running off to work or to this or that. I keep thinking of the scene where he is in his gf's house and she is talking and he is totally nothearing a word but MJ comes next door and slams the door on her way in and he hears it though it's not loud at all. And OMG OMG when gf later mentions to MJ to close door quietly and MJ is all ok but then Kang Jae mentions about doors and she realizes what happened and guuuh...these people have scary chemistry and inscredible stares.
But yeah, he got together with gf because he was young and he wanted someone to be with, not to be lonely. But also, when she broke up with him (understandably on her part), it gave him time to get used to the concept of his not being with her and so...Mi Joo.
Also, I love that all the mob stuff is also prominent. despite the title it's not just all love story.
Oh, and I am also bad. I skipped to the famous love-making scene in eps 18-19. GUUUUUUUUH. So gorgeous (and out of control).
meganbmoore, you should so get this drama.
