Youtube rocks the Asian music scene
Jan. 13th, 2007 07:02 pmHad yummy lunch with Mr. Mousie at Mangu, a new Korean restaurant. They had soju, and after all kdramas I wanted to try some, but swilling liquor at lunch, not such a good idea. Next time. And then a chocolate milk thing at Godiva chocolates. And the best walk all over the city (for hours), watching the sun set. And off to see Letters from Iwo Jima tonight.
But anyway. This isn't what the post is about.
This post is about the blessings of youtube and awesome music videos they have. If you like Yamapi, Kame, or MatsuJun, this post is for you.
Akira/Nobuko. Yeah, I am not the only one.
I found there are apparently a huge number of people fond of Yamapi/Horihita Maki pairing in general (they MUST make another drama!)
And then there is Yamapi. HOT.
And as a final treat, I bring you MatsuJun, being all rock-starry and shinily clad and hot. And also very different from Domyouji.

Date: 2007-01-14 01:01 am (UTC)Seriously, if it weren't for cracktastic videos on Youtube, I doubt I'd be so much into this particular scene.
You get three guesses as to who's in the clown suit, and the first two don't count.
There's also this one, where Aiba from Arashi kisses* 13-year-old Yamapi!
*Or not.
Seriously, I got a million of 'em. Do you happen to have a particularly burning desire to see Matsujun in a purple aphro?
Also, HOORAY you're going to see Letters! FINALLY I'll have someone to talk with about it!

Re: Letters. It was excellent and very depressing. I think I need to re-immerce myself into Japanese enteratainment that has sequins.

Date: 2007-01-14 09:42 pm (UTC)SaigoNino, wearing an outfit entirely yellow!).Arashi cosplay. Sho is a kindergartener (a girl, too, from the looks of it... I think he's wearing a skirt), Aiba's a cheerleader, Matsujun is an "American priest" (I have never seen a priest dressed like that, wtf), Ohno's a maid, Nino's a ninja, and whoever their guest is looks like a vinyl policewoman.
Apparently Matsujun crossdressed a bit when he was younger:
Professing his love for Aiba (back when they were Johnny's Juniors):
Being a detective with Sho in order to stop a bad guy:
I'm including this just because I find it funny every single time I watch it. Aiba and Ohno practice English.
And this one's good (even if the first minute's a bit dull) because it clearly shows that Nino's got access to really good crack. And Matsujun sucks at hide-and-seek.

And as to Yamapi? *dies*

Date: 2007-01-14 06:21 am (UTC)Matsujun is great! Guh. I loved him in Kimi wa Petto so much... He was freaking hot. (It's a tie between him in that and as Domyoji in Hana Yori Dango.)
And Yamapi is like number 2 in my favorite japanese actors. (I'm sorry, but my love for Oguri Shun will never be beat... Well, never say never.) But yeah, he was SMOKING in Kurosagi especially. ^_^

Date: 2007-01-14 06:36 am (UTC)There is making out in KwP? It just moved way higher on my list :)
And yeah, I was such a Shin/Yankumi shipper :)

Date: 2007-01-14 06:42 am (UTC)And yesh, there totally is. I think I rewatched that series several times, JUST to see the making out scenes. I mean, there weren't a LOT, but like 3 or 4? Which in J-dramas is WHOA, LOTS. Heh.
And I was too! They were adorable... For a teacher/student pairing. LOL.

Date: 2007-01-14 06:47 am (UTC)I actually prefer megaupload or other direct upload sites to the torrents myself because torrents always take forever. But yeah, Pride it toally worth it. *uses pride icon*
Normally I'd never ship teacher student, but jdramas and kdramas are ruining me. Shin/Yankumi, Hikaru/Michi in Forbidden Love. What next? :)

Date: 2007-01-14 07:00 am (UTC)And LOL. So true. Sometimes, Jdramas (and others) have some of the strangest couplings, but you can't help but love them. I can't think of anything off-hand, but yeah. BTW. Never watched Forbidden love. What's it about? (Other then a teacher/student pairing. Heh.)

Date: 2007-01-14 01:57 pm (UTC)Re: Forbidden Love (also known as Majo No Jouken). It's a story of a 26 year old female teacher Michi and 17 year old male student Hikaru (who looks like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/Dangermousie/doramas/af3e9df6.jpg)). They are both out of place in the world.
Michi, at 26, appears lost, and has the uncertainty and vulnerability of a much younger woman. She has no passion for teaching and is in fact being bullied by her students. She is controlled by her parents and is dating a man who is good but towards whom she feels nothing.
Hikaru, at 17, is in fact in many way more mature than Michi. Hikaru is an intense, lonely guy, with a creepily dominant mother (that woman really gives Domyouji's Mom a run for her money for horribleness, only I am also getting a quasi-sexual interest in her son vibe there. It's really disturbing). Michi and Hikaru meet when he accidentally knocks her down on his motorcycle. And later that day Michi finds a new transfer student in her class.
In a way, they first bond through their sheer loneliness and pain and outsider status (these people are outcasts in society well before they even think of an affair). And it develops into friendship and then love and Michi finds herself pursued by the deadly-serious Hikaru and has to decide whether to risk everything on this love that shouldn't ever be but is the only thing that makes them both feel alive. And that is only the first two-three eps. And it goes from there. It's amazing. It's my third favorite jdrama (the top 5 in order are Pride, Kurosagi, Forbidden Love, Hanadan (1+2), Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake).
