dangermousie: (Gokusen Shin by cerridwene)

Had yummy lunch with Mr. Mousie at Mangu, a new Korean restaurant. They had soju, and after all kdramas I wanted to try some, but swilling liquor at lunch, not such a good idea. Next time. And then a chocolate milk thing at Godiva chocolates. And the best walk all over the city (for hours), watching the sun set. And off to see Letters from Iwo Jima tonight.

But anyway. This isn't what the post is about.

This post is about the blessings of youtube and awesome music videos they have. If you like Yamapi, Kame, or MatsuJun, this post is for you.

Akira/Nobuko. Yeah, I am not the only one.

I found there are apparently a huge number of people fond of Yamapi/Horihita Maki pairing in general (they MUST make another drama!)

And then there is Yamapi. HOT.

And as a final treat, I bring you MatsuJun, being all rock-starry and shinily clad and hot. And also very different from Domyouji.

That third is "LoveXXX" and is one of my fave Yamapi live perfs. Btw, for anyone who wants the actual videos for download, I have Seishun Amigo, Daite Senorita & LoveXXX uploaded already. :) They are much love.

All three of these plus other Yamapi videos and NewS performances are here. I'm unlocking it for now, but I'll flock it in a week, so get what you want now! :) And enjoy, because they're all fun.

Ahaha, you've discovered LoveXXXX, I see. Quite different from Yamapi in dramas, isn't it?

Anyway. I'll have to watch these. I never go looking for music videos anymore, but if you find the good ones for me, I can't resist.

Oh my god, LoveXXX. You know, I should upload this random performance of a song called "Let Me", which is basically Yamapi gyrating, in fur. Oh, and a large black cowboy hat.

Man, I love Japan.

I have "Let Me" in the post I linked above, and I highly agree - it's fabulous. :) (well, the dancing is fabulous...that costume is questionable)

WEIRD. Just now I'm watching Arashi's "How's It Going" concert, and I get to Jun's "Don't Cry", and decide to pause to take a break and read livejournal. And you just happen to have the same Matsujun song up that I paused at!

Seriously, if it weren't for cracktastic videos on Youtube, I doubt I'd be so much into this particular scene.

You get three guesses as to who's in the clown suit, and the first two don't count.

There's also this one, where Aiba from Arashi kisses* 13-year-old Yamapi!

*Or not.

Seriously, I got a million of 'em. Do you happen to have a particularly burning desire to see Matsujun in a purple aphro?

Also, HOORAY you're going to see Letters! FINALLY I'll have someone to talk with about it!

Heeeee. those vids were to die for.

Purple aphro? Bring in ON!!!

Re: Letters. It was excellent and very depressing. I think I need to re-immerce myself into Japanese enteratainment that has sequins.

Okay, so I couldn't find the purple aphro video. It looks like it got pulled, which saddens me, because it was one of the first ones I saw and I thought it was absolutely cracktastic. Intead, I offer you "Te Agero" from one of their concerts; they've lost the color-coded wigs but are still decked out in seventies-style disco outfits. Matsujun's in purple, and holy crap keep your eyes on his ass (also featuring Saigo Nino, wearing an outfit entirely yellow!).

Arashi cosplay. Sho is a kindergartener (a girl, too, from the looks of it... I think he's wearing a skirt), Aiba's a cheerleader, Matsujun is an "American priest" (I have never seen a priest dressed like that, wtf), Ohno's a maid, Nino's a ninja, and whoever their guest is looks like a vinyl policewoman.

Apparently Matsujun crossdressed a bit when he was younger:

Professing his love for Aiba (back when they were Johnny's Juniors):

Being a detective with Sho in order to stop a bad guy:

I'm including this just because I find it funny every single time I watch it. Aiba and Ohno practice English.

And this one's good (even if the first minute's a bit dull) because it clearly shows that Nino's got access to really good crack. And Matsujun sucks at hide-and-seek.

The clips of Gone are largely taken from Kurosagi (see icon), the jdrama that is second only to Pride on my favorite jdrama list. You HAVE to watch...

You HAVE to watch...

OK. I have heard lots about this drama, anyway... I will watch it soon.

PS: I meant to comment on your post in [livejournal.com profile] dorama_chat but I forgot - I watched ep 1 of Goong S today, and my opinion is that it's good fun. It moves a lot faster than Goong, and Se7en is surprisingly hilarious.

Yay. I'll try Goong S then. I am not dying for it (which is just as well, as Hanadan 2 is currently kicking my head in with the whole only once a week thing, and then there is my Hana Kimi obsession). But I'll definitely check it out.

Aieeee, it's in 4 parts on megaupload, which hates me. Urgh - I will try the filesend links first to see if those work, otherwise I'm going to have to find a torrent. Thank you for the link, though! :D

Eeek! I friended your journal just today (after reading your lovely HYD2 Ep2 thingie) and then I saw this... And I have uber love for all the Yamapi videos. Especially that third one? Yowch! I think my love for Yamapi has grown... Like immensely. Guh. ... Sound effects on text are so weird. Anyway, thanks for the linking! ^_^

(Also? The Matsujun one was so great... *sighs*)

MatsuJun...sigh.

And as to Yamapi? *dies*

Awww! You friended me too! Loves that! (And I'm over using my exclamation points... XP)

Matsujun is great! Guh. I loved him in Kimi wa Petto so much... He was freaking hot. (It's a tie between him in that and as Domyoji in Hana Yori Dango.)

And Yamapi is like number 2 in my favorite japanese actors. (I'm sorry, but my love for Oguri Shun will never be beat... Well, never say never.) But yeah, he was SMOKING in Kurosagi especially. ^_^

I haven't watched KwP yet. I have it but the concept of it is so odd. Loved him in Gokusen though. Mad love.

As to Yamapi? Eeee. My second fave only behind KimuTaku :)

Date: 2007-01-14 06:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com
I totally agree that the concept was odd. When my friend talked about the manga, I didn't like the idea at all... So when I watched the drama and found out that they were connected, I was a little surprised. But despite its oddity, it's actually not half bad. (Seeing him make out with the female lead more than ONE time was also all sorts of amusing.) And Gokusen was great. I recently watched the second one, and I so missed him in it. T.T (As well as Oguri, of course.) He was so great it in. Especially in the end where he says that he love Yankumi. ^_^

And I feel ignorant for saying this but... Who's KimuTaku? I've always had trouble remembering names... XP

Date: 2007-01-14 06:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
KimuTaku is Kimura Takuya, the star (among others) of my favorite jdrama Pride. He's a member of SMAPxSMAP.

There is making out in KwP? It just moved way higher on my list :)

And yeah, I was such a Shin/Yankumi shipper :)

From: [identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com
Oooh, there we go! I have yet to see Pride, but it's totally on my list. I've been procrastinating on actually dling it since its torrents are basically nonexistent and I'd have to dl through megaupload or something. But you totally have good taste (from what I've read of some of your posts) so it's likely to move higher up my list.

And yesh, there totally is. I think I rewatched that series several times, JUST to see the making out scenes. I mean, there weren't a LOT, but like 3 or 4? Which in J-dramas is WHOA, LOTS. Heh.

And I was too! They were adorable... For a teacher/student pairing. LOL.

Date: 2007-01-14 06:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
Heee, thanks. *blushes*

I actually prefer megaupload or other direct upload sites to the torrents myself because torrents always take forever. But yeah, Pride it toally worth it. *uses pride icon*

Normally I'd never ship teacher student, but jdramas and kdramas are ruining me. Shin/Yankumi, Hikaru/Michi in Forbidden Love. What next? :)

Date: 2007-01-14 07:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com
I usually do, but since my internet's been acting funky lately. Torrents have been my only hope to actually watch anything. I can't seem to finish a dl through direct upload sites unless I pray for a miracle.

And LOL. So true. Sometimes, Jdramas (and others) have some of the strangest couplings, but you can't help but love them. I can't think of anything off-hand, but yeah. BTW. Never watched Forbidden love. What's it about? (Other then a teacher/student pairing. Heh.)

Oh no, re: downloads :(

Re: Forbidden Love (also known as Majo No Jouken). It's a story of a 26 year old female teacher Michi and 17 year old male student Hikaru (who looks like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/Dangermousie/doramas/af3e9df6.jpg)). They are both out of place in the world.

Michi, at 26, appears lost, and has the uncertainty and vulnerability of a much younger woman. She has no passion for teaching and is in fact being bullied by her students. She is controlled by her parents and is dating a man who is good but towards whom she feels nothing.

Hikaru, at 17, is in fact in many way more mature than Michi. Hikaru is an intense, lonely guy, with a creepily dominant mother (that woman really gives Domyouji's Mom a run for her money for horribleness, only I am also getting a quasi-sexual interest in her son vibe there. It's really disturbing). Michi and Hikaru meet when he accidentally knocks her down on his motorcycle. And later that day Michi finds a new transfer student in her class.

In a way, they first bond through their sheer loneliness and pain and outsider status (these people are outcasts in society well before they even think of an affair). And it develops into friendship and then love and Michi finds herself pursued by the deadly-serious Hikaru and has to decide whether to risk everything on this love that shouldn't ever be but is the only thing that makes them both feel alive. And that is only the first two-three eps. And it goes from there. It's amazing. It's my third favorite jdrama (the top 5 in order are Pride, Kurosagi, Forbidden Love, Hanadan (1+2), Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake).

Oooooh. Sounds fascinating! I totally will check that out now (and the picture you chose for the guy was just... GUHHHH... Noise=fun. Heh.) And the fact that the mother is ... whatever towards her son is a little creepy. But yeah, I think I'll definitely check that out. I totally don't have a list of favorite jdramas... Or haven't had a chance to actually rate them in my head. Maybe I should... *thinks on it*
