Despite my lack of interest at the end of ep 1, I did try ep 2 and, to my shock, found I liked it much better, and not just because they cut down t&a (seriously, I don't get why medieval = doggie style, but I am sure HBO had a crack team of researchers on it).

Basically, the exposition intro babble is over, the story flows much better, and I am actually beginning to see some of these characters as people. The problem of there being too many concurrent storylines, thus spreading the narrative too thin as no one character gets sufficient screen-time to truly stand out, still remains (exascerbated by the fact that I just never like ensemble pieces, I prefer narratives with a very small group of protagonists, Deathstalker notwithstanding), but at least I am interested in the overarching story.

We'll see how it goes.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns, sorry, I know you adore Jaime, but I don't find him particularly interesting. Good-looking, yes. Interesting, not really. He's frighteningly self-absorbed about himself and Cersei, but that's about his most stand-out feature.
