As promised, some amazingly lovely shots of lovely women, gorgeous men, and more feathers than anywhere outside a strip bar. Or a flamingo farm.

The sexy and be-feathered Duke Wuhuan wants you to click on the cut. Or else he will have to use a cut of his own:

That's what I call layering. Our heroine, Princess Qingcheng:

The not-so-benevolent Goddess:

Oh heck, I am tired of captioning:

In other news, I am still gleeing and rewatching the last 10 minutes of Veronica Mars 2.22 and gleeing like mad.

They are rather different in pacing and a lot more of 'restrained melodrama' if that makes sense. I love them, but I wouldn't start with "The Promise." I'd start with House of Flying Daggers or Crouching Tiger...

Oh, I've seen some other than just Korean films. Just, as of late (like within the last two years) I've seen mostly Korean films, like "Friend" and ...Joint Security Area and ooh, one Japanese film called Casshern (without subs, was funny).

I've seen Crouching Tiger but I didn't exactly love it, to be honest. There was this film called Bichunmoo which half-sucked but was still somewhat more interesting to me than Crouching Tiger. I should probably see Oldboy or whatever that famous recent-ish Korean film is called.

I liked Bichunmoo. So I take it you are more about the melodrama part and not the restrained part of the 'restrained melodrama' formula? :)

Oldboy sounds way too violent for me...

I dig violence, oddly enough. I'm into Tamil action flicks because of the violence just looks good. Hollywood violence can be kind of boring, unless it's superhero stuff. But I liked the Korean action movies for, well, the action. Gallons of blood, men in suits. Yes, please, four.

But anyway, I'm not sure what you mean about restrained melodrama.. My only real issue with Bichunmoo was that they cut the scene where one of the characters changes his name so that made for a great big WTF moment. Me and my friend watched it THREE times before we caught on what the deal was and understood the whole movie.

*stares* I don't know you and I like you already. I've seen so many wuxia movies and hate Crouching Tiger. *frowns*

Watch old Jet Li movies, like Huang Fei Hong and Fang Shi Yu. :)
