Even though I feel disloyal to Koala, I could so get on-board this train! The abs don't hurt.

Speaking of good-looking, I am simply agog to watch the upcoming King of Lan Ling, a war epic/love story which apparently is based on a legend about a warrior king so gorgeous he had to wear a mask into battle so as not to distract people (so like Chinese Finnick? :P) It's Ariel Lin's comeback to period cdramas and I love her in them, and it stars my darling Feng Shao Feng as the titular character. RAWR:



Though I confess, much as I adore FSF, I think it's a bit of a stretch to label him an unearthly beauty. I'd say Wallace Huo, who is so gorgeous it's unreal, or Huang Xiao Ming, who's pretty much perfection in human form, would fit the bill much better. And ditto Kevin Cheng, Chen Kun and Hu Ge. Also possibly Nic Tse. But not really FSF, attractive though I find him.

Doesn't ChuHan look like a mini-reunion of 3Kingdoms with MUCH more dirt and blood?!

I actually think Eddie is much more suitable than the current older looking HG in terms of look for a HXB as soon as he's in talk of joining, so yeah, I think Koala should disown me first if she's in the mood of disowning. Too bad the production looks destined to crapville and beyond for me.

It does! I noticed the actor for Liu Bei from 3K in this. I can't wait for this thing. I think HBO, which bought HXM's upcoming series, apparently, should buy this one, so I'd be sure of subs.

I am utterly unfamiliar with anything in DMY production so I have little to no opinion on it. Tangren productions range from amazing (BBJX) to designer should be fired (first CP, imo), so...

I'm not a fangirl of the LiuBei in 3K and don't really think he has the commanding aura of the dictator QinShiHuang, but here he is again playing a role I think must be able to hold his own against the LiuBei and the XiangYu. There's the ZhangFei in 3K as FanKwai here. Also there are a few fr the other big classic adapt hit WaterMargin and at least one veteran fr the 'original' 1994 3K (which my dad still insists is the Better one).

But golly it's all who's who of C veterans playing bit roles I can't even keep track. They alone can explain a billion RMB used in the production.

Other than I'm more than fine with Eddie as HXM, it does look more horrific of cheapo/every turdish wrong sets and costumes than I'm afraid CP, ie the rest of Koala gripes r all no truer words. BTW XuanYuan Sword is set to air in July. they r going on promo rounds now. I rem u r interested

Yeah, I recognized a whole lot of people. This thing does look like it had money poured into it by the buckets. Very lavish (but not overwhelming the story, if 3K is anything to go by). I love just how gritty and grim and bloody it looks and much as I crush on Peter, CDM pretty much blew me away in all his scenes. I need to watch more stuff with him.

Yeah, I am sure XY Sword will be another CP1/CP3 lunacy, but I can't resist my tacky fantasy fighting epic thingies. Plus, I am guaranteed subs because JiangHu picked it up.

CDM is rumored to be the highest paid C working actor by a LONG shot. He's proving he's worth EVERY freaken dime. He's insane and disgustingly alluring. We know we'll fall for LiuBei even though we'll be vomiting inside our mouths. And gosh his line-delivery and everything is magnetic and sending me chills and hots and whatnots.

R there subs for The Prince of Han Dynasty? It's a green and charming HXM, it's where I saw him first and was charmed, killing 2 birds with one stone.

Yeah, this is the first time I feel anything but 'wtf get away, freakshow!' towards Liu Bang. It's disturbing :) If they do with him what they did with Cao Cao in 3K, he will definitely be the most interesting character, even if I will still be Team XY.

Haha, you two can love Eddie as HQB all you want! While I happily loathe him off in my corner. Never shall I disown friends for having a different opinion than mine. I'm sure he'll be just fine, but he's just not my HQB. ^___^

I still haven't read the second half of your amazing translations so I don't really have a HQB image in my mind.

I must say the hair for LSS in this is atrocious. It makes her look a decade older. I don't find Han hairstyles particularly flattering on ladies, but surely they could have done better.

Nyah, Eddie is much more suited to play HQB than Hu Ge. I just don't all the backdoor manuveuring and publicity whoring in the beginning selling HG as HQB then switching up at the last moment for financial and other reasons. It may make sense, but left a really bitter taste in my mouth. I abhor being bait-and-switched, even if the switch is tastier. I've already lost my appetite by then.

But honestly I wasnt excited at all with a gaunt and forever gaunt and grumpy/angsty looking HuGe as HXB but was just expecting him to be #1 Guy1 in any token TR production, so I was actually beyond excited when Eddie is on ship. Too bad everything went to shizhole fr that point on.

Oh yes, not seeing eye-to-eye with Karen makes me feel less like a......*insert insult* Oh well, DMY will be what it'll be, but months later, the novel is about as meaningful as a shoujo manga. Nice to see I can be objective even about my own rabid loves once the ardor cools down.

As hot as I think the others you listed are, I don't think they'd quite fit the bill for "so pretty he has to wear a mask"... with the exception of CHEN KUN. Holy crap, that guy! *oogles* I keep forgetting how pretty he is because he's never on my screen, with him always picking things that I'd never touch with a 10-foot pole.

I can handle the horror part, but I refuse to touch Painted Skin purely on the basis of the whole, "I'm attracted to someone other than my wife!" thing. By all accounts he has incredible chemistry with Zhou Xun and fans were in shippy heaven over it, but that's one ship I'll never board; I just can't see it as anything but adultery.
