Entertainment plans for the upcoming week...

1. Respond to everyone...

2. Catch up on The King 2 Hearts eps 13-14, Love Rain 11-14 (bliss!!!) and Queen In Hyun's Man eps 5-6. I am putting aside The Equator Man to binge when it's done.

3. Clear up and post caps of eps 3-4 of QIHM - such a perfect, shippy, gorgeous drama. And Bung Do is such an amazing hero - smart, good, laid-back. Yoo Inna's heroine is wonderful and loveable too.

4. Read Cassandra Clare's latest in Mortal Instruments series, "City of Lost Souls." I eat up that series and the angsty angsty lurve between Clary and Jace with a big spoon. Though I think the premise of CoLS, in which Clary's used-to-think-he-was-her-brother-but-he-wasn't boyfriend gets possessed by her demonic-real-life-brother and there might be make-outs, reaches the levels of insanity not seen since CLAMP or Vampire Knight. Bring it on, people!

4. Start Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Born of Night," the first one in her League series. Love me some space opera, love me some romance, loved the other book in the series I read, and also met the protagonists of this one in the other book and thought they were awesome. The super-tall, super-strong invincible half-human former assassin and tiny dancer gal/daughter of a president that he rescues and who can wind him around her finger is a scenario made for me. Plus, I know Kenyon, h/c is going to be out of this world.

5. Finish Lauren Kate's "Fallen" quartet, at least the three books that are out. I am a sucker for paranormal romance YA (ummm, paranormal romance in general) and got 2/3 through this on my plane ride. Addiction! In Fallen, Luce, our teenage, sent-to-reform-school, seeing creepy visions heroine, finds out that she is one half of a super-doomed, super-punished couple - she keeps reincarnating over and over and over through the centuries only to die at the moment she and her equally punished OTP get together (he is a powerful sort-of-fallen angel and his punishment is to stay alive and remember everything only for it to happen over and over again no matter what he does). They are in their own cdrama! Only this time, she's not been baptized or brought up in any religion, so if she dies, that is the end, no reincarnation or anything. And a lot of supernatural bad guys are interested in that. On plus side, she also didn't die when they got together. Now, if she can only keep staying alive! Anyway, I love it to bits and ship the OTP. The whole thing would make a fun CW show but I am glad it's been left alone because you just know the makers would stick her with bad-boy Cam and not her OTP (see Vampire Diaries, adaptation of...).

6. Sleep. I am so jetlagged.

You are tempting me with the Fallen quartet! Usually I stay far away from all the paranormal YA fiction that's dominating the market right now but I might pick up that series. It sounds so addictive!

I need to catch up with Cassandra Clare's new books. Those are my guilty pleasure books!

I can't wait to read your thoughts on the Equator Man! It's such a visually appealing drama and I love the psychological back and forth between the characters.

Looking forward to the QIHM spazz post! It's been a while since I liked a drama make lead so much. I like the Joseon 4, but only because they are funny; never got to connect with them (same with Park H). I like Jae Ha; but it’s mainly because I’m watching him grow through adversities bit by bit, earning my heart with the way he deals with family and foes. But with Bong Do. It’s love at first sight. Smart, composed, good natured...And beautiful cinematography! Of the 3 Wed-Thurs dramas I’m watching, this is the one I look forward to more eagerly. I still love TK2H, but the love has mellowed, and I know each one hour episode would be stellar. I’m watching RTP just so not to drop it halfway. But for QIHM…….I can’t wait for whatever twist the story may bring every episode! Can’t wait!!!

Lauren Kate's "Fallen" sounds a lot like Book 6 of L.J. Smith's Night World series (1997), so it's funny you mentioned the CW, since she wrote both the Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle. In Soulmate, Hannah is a human old soul who keeps getting reincarnated, and she's soul-mates with a vampire known as Thierry, whose Lord of the Nightworld. Thierry keeps waiting for her to be reborn, but every time they get reunited, she gets killed and never lives past her 17th birthday. She has visions of her past life, knows she's going to die early, and Thierry is the tortured, guilt-ridden hero, who must continuously wait for her, only to lose her again and again. It's been awhile since I read it, but I think there was even a twist towards the end where the villain found a way to stop her from reincarnating, so it's their last chance to get it right. Of course, that was only one book in a series, so I'm sure "Fallen" goes a bit more in-depth. Still, the parallels are uncanny! Considering the success of Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle though, I wouldn't be surprised if they adapted the Night World Series eventually, and we got to see it onscreen (though personally I've preferred the books over all the adaptations so far).

Re: CC's books - I've read the first three (?) I think, but never got around to reading the 4th one. One day it was still called a trilogy, and then the next day - bam, here's a 4th! Not that I'm complaining; they're great entertainment. :P Though I almost wish she left Clary and Jace alone, because the level of crazy can only go UP instead of down with those two. Just once, I'd like to see an awesome OTP get ample development, reach their HEA and see the author actually leave them that way!

Honestly, the fifth book was my least fave. It was still entertaining but I wish she left it as a trilogy. For one, she's running out of things to do to them.

LOL so true. "Let's see how much we can torture Jace and Clary!" Some of the things she puts Jace through, really... And the thing is, when all this stuff happened in the first 3 books, Clary and Jace had not yet gotten together. Part of the whole "excitement," so to speak, was to keep reading to see what happened and whether they would get their HEA. Once that more or less happened in book 3, my interest dwindled because I simply don't want all that ruined.

Honestly, I think it would've been better if she wrote spinoffs in the same world. I think that was what she was planning to do with the 4th book, because technically it was supposed to be about Simon... but in the end it only ended up being more about Simon/Izzy/Maia, while the Jace/Clary thing continued to be extended.

Yeah, by now Jace should be locked up in a padded cell somewhere, heavily medicated.

The problem with spin-offs is that I don't really care for any of the characters except Jace and Clary so it's no win for me.
