Had a long and exhausting day today and didn't do anything fannish except watching ep 5 of Operation Proposal, which continues to work for me ridiculously well. I am so invested in Baek Ho's quest, it's not even funny. I wonder if it's because he'd normally be a secondary guy, or because his chemistry with Yi Seul is so lovely, or because he's a flawed but very decent person.

Nah, it's because YSH looks at his leading lady with all his heart (and heartbreak of hopeless longing) in his eyes:






Oh, and because the drama gives me scenes of total perfection like this (she's drunk and crying about the wreck of his baseball dreams and all he is concerned about is not the wreck of his dreams but as to whether if he did succeed, would he have had a chance to win her heart).




Darlings! It doesn't hurt that I want Coach to go DIAF.

I haven't had a chance to watch today's ep of SUFBB yet (PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ME!!!) but as I am waiting for subs, have this delightful pic from the photoshoot Sung Joon and Jo Boa, SUFBB's OTP, did recently:

Random tangential thought - in a minor way, Ji Hyuk/Soo Ah remind me a bit of my otp in Dream High, Hyemi/Jin Gook. I dumped the drama when it became clear it was going to become Sam Dong-centric and go SD/Hyemi instead (don't get me started), but for a while there, I shipped Hyemi/JG like crazy, what with the whole princess-fallen-on-hard-times and her street-kid black knight thing they had going on. And this is a little like this, only 10000x better.

Haha I thought Jin Gook and his daddy issues was SO BORING. he was a genuinely good guy though so i didnt hate him but i ended up going to make snacks during alot of his scenes with his dad. I liked his relationship with hye mi's rival and his adorb dynamic with sam dong and hye mi's sister. but his scenes with hye mi? mostly a snooze fest. i guess because prissy girl and "bad boy" (he was hardly that bad) is kind of a tired trope. that said I loved Hye Mi and her bitchery she was fab and I thought her relationship with Sam Dong was much more hilarious and super cute. I just liked the idea of this naive country bumpkin/sweatheard kid falling for this mean self serving girl. its an interesting dynamic, since we get lots of cute naive girl falls for cold chaebol or w/e and i thought this was a nice switch of that. I dont know why I liked Sam Dong so much but i thought he was adooooorable. I had just a thing for him so him turning into the story's hero was totally great for me. I think my fave romance though was Pil Suk and Jason's though.

(I saw those pics between Sung Joon and Jo boa and squeed like a school girl over them. SO CUTE. and he's such an adorbs preppy boy. still prefer him as a rocker tho. like if his next drama they cast him as some prissy preppy dude i wont be able to cope! lol very silly i know)

I hate naive/bumpkiny guy heroes because they have no societal excuse. Even his accent drove me nuts, plus he looked like he was 12 (I believe I may just be averse to KSH - I had to stop watching a random clip from Moon because he irritated me) so even before the shipping, I was annoyed and then he got the girl and I went all GRRRR

Yay, someone else that was team Hye Mi and Jin Gook. We shipped them so badly and adored all their OPT scenes. As much as we loved DH, Sam Dong getting the girl was not the ending we were hoping for, so we totally understand what you mean.

Yup, I got so annoyed with the shipping in that drama. Nothing is going to convince me they weren't setting up JG with Hyemi until Sam Dong's popularity took off.
