Buffy Rewatch: Bad Eggs

I think I might be in the minority, but I really like S2's 'Bad Eggs.' The Redneck Vamp brothers amuse me to no end (and I am very very glad Lyle escapes, I can't help it). The egg thing is suitably creepy and fun, the zingers are great (especially Cordy and Xander back-and-forth in sex ed) and I love seeing Buffy and Angel so happy together and having a lot of fun making out like totally hormonally driven dorks instead of hunting. And it's one of my favorite shippy moments, when he tells her he can't have children (which would be part of her normal life of course) and she doesn't care and she tells him 'When I look into the future, all I see is you. All I want is you.' If only it were that simple. And the camera pans over, rather chillingly in retrospect, to the headstone with 'in loving memory of.'

I just love that sweetness especially since I know what happens next ep. I think the fact that Surprise is next is actually part of the reason I like BE so. It's the last breathing space before the rest of the season tears my heart out and dances a tap dance on the remains. I love the second half of S2 (IMO the best Buffy arc ever), but I am dreading it, too.

Dark Hunter Glee

I honestly mean it, this LJ is not turning into some sort of "hot angsty blood-drinkers with a penchant for masochism and human ladies" blog, but

This Tuesday, Acheron is out.

By that, I don't mean that an acquaintance of mine with an unfortunate name has either left jail or came out of the closet.

No, I mean that Sherrilyn Kenyon, the author of the Dark Hunter series, finally, finally, FINALLY did a book about Acheron, the Dark Hunter boss...I thought that would never happen.

SQUEEEEE.

Mad Squee. That's the one Kenyon book I really wanted to read. I wonder if she did follow up with her plan to make it two books. Amazon lists acheron at 700+ pages (whoa) so I don't think so.

Anyway, I am sure it will be cheesy as hell, but that is why I love my Dark Hunter books: full of uber-angsty men and cheese. Yay! This better have a lot of angst, is all I am sayin'. But I have faith it will as I am sure they will go into his past. SQUEE. I am a sick sick girl and am happy to remain so.

See, SMeyer? I don't need my vampires sparkly and virginity-fixated. All I require is some hideous torture, some blood-letting and blood-drinking and some sex :D A pet demon is also a bonus.
