dangermousie: (Silence Vic by scottishlass)
I am still working on replies to the replies to the friendslist love meme post (OK, that was convoluted :P)

How could anyone not like Why Why Love, the fluffy, delicious Taiwanese concoction? Seriously.

If you are yet not convinced, just check out this MV:

Seriously, I defy you to not die of the cute.

Also, what is with evil parents in dramaland? I sorta want to murder Mike He's character's father, only take out the 'sorta.' His two sons are in an accident (by being speed-racing demons, very mature :D) and he asks about his eldest's condition (the awesome Kingone) and when the girl who is telling him starts to tell him about the injuries of his youngest, his response? 'Him, I don't need to know.'

*stab*

But then generally I find myself mildly perplexed by dramaworld rules. :P I just gotten my hands on The Hospital, last year's Jerry Yan drama. Now, I know of Jerry Yan in three dramas: Meteor Garden (and the sequel), Love Scar (a short, three ep drama I haven't watched yet because I don't speak Chinese and there aren't subs) and now The Hospital.

In all three he plays a guy ditched by a girl, temporarily or not. OK, how does this work? He is 6'+ of pure gorgeousness. In realworld, he'd have to beat girls off with a stick, but in drama world he is apparently a girl-less wonder :D I know he looks good angsting, but come on :) The only reason he didn't get girl-angst in Meteor Rain was because it was pre-Shan Cai and he has 'property of Shan-Cai' tattooed on his forehead. Plus, they were busy giving him cute mute moppet angst.

In other news, Love Storm is being subbed.

I have just watched the first ep.

You have no idea how giddy it makes me.

It stars Vic Zhou, who is my favorite drama actor ever. I will basically watch a paint-peeling commercial if he is in it. Add Ken Chu (another F4 boy. *swoons for Xi Men* Though I guess they are called JVKV now. Ehhh, I prefer 'F4') and a fluffy romance with bits of angst and a happy ending? And kissing? I am set.

Don't misunderstand me, it's not a forgotten masterpiece. But it's a bit of silly, passing-the-time-pleasantly drama :)

Some vids )

And here are reasons to watch:

Reason 1: The LOLz. Seriously. Just look at this without your eyes bleeding. This is the heroine's bedroom :)

Most worthy reasons )

Oh, and because I don't like neglecting kdramas. I've decided Lee Jun Ki should star in every drama, because then subs come out super fast. There are subs for all of four eps of Time between Dog and Wolf already.

Check out what happens in ep 4:

After watching Why Why Love, with its bad father for Mike He, I was thinking about how many of these dramas feature evil relatives. It's extrraordinary. So a little poll. This time with checkboxes :)

dangermousie: (The Outsiders night)
I have restarted watching The Outsiders.

Yes, it's still my second favorite drama ever (behind Mars only because I prefer happy endings to heartbreaking ones), but I took a huge break between eps 17 and 18 just because I knew what was coming in ep 18 and was putting it off...I am a wimp.

I have decided I don't hate any other female character in twdramas as much as I do Xiao Die, the Mainland Girl.

It takes a colossal amount of nerve to go up to the long-term girlfriend of object of your affection (who is his wife in everything but name), and to ask her to leave her husband. Why? Has Ah Hao confessed his love to Xiao Die and is Yu Yen standing in the way?

No. What Ah Hao has done is rescue her from the streets. And then at one point, lowest point in his life, he was so drunk he took her for Yu Yen and had sex with her, calling her Yu Yen the whole way. And then, when he came to the morning after, he felt incredibly horrible and apologized (to which Xiao Die replied that she knew he thought she was Yu Yen and was fine with it (!!!!)). And then Yu Yen found out and broke it off with him, and now they are trying to reconcile. Did I mention that he never played any games with Xiao Die, and in fact told her that he apologizes for that night, he doesn't love her, won't love her, and even if Yu Yen wasn't around, he'd never be with her. How much clearer can he get? A tattoo?

So Xiao Die (in an amazing dispplay of chutzpah) intercepts Yu Yen as she is off to meet Ah Hao and tells her to leave him! And when Yu Yen (showing more cool than I would have) points out that she should address that to Ah Hao and not her, Xiao Die continues that Ah Hao is avoiding her because she is a crazy stalker he feels guilty towards Yu Yen. And that why doesn't Yu Yen leave him? They had marital problems before her, so shouldn't they separate and find perfect partners? (The gall of this? Shouldn't she listen to the wishes of the guy she supposedly loves so much and who saved her life repeatedly? He clearly thinks Yu Yen is as perfect as it gets).

And when Yu Yen tells her that they have problems but they will work through them and they love each other? The BITCH has the gall to whine 'let him go, because I need him more than you do, I have no parents.' Literally. WTF? For one thing, why should Yu Yen care about you? For another, he is not a trophy, to be awarded to the one who needs a guy the most. He has his own, decided, opinions on the issue.

That last whiny statement of hers killed me dead.

God, I hate her.

hate hate hate.

He has never given a moment's indication he likes you, psycho! Even during sex he called you Yu Yen's name and the only way you got him into bed is when he was so out of it he literally thought you were Yu Yen. Where, in any of it, do you see anything to give you the gall to do this? HATE.

And when Yu Yen basically says, sorry, no luck, I love him and he doesn't love you? The psycho lies that she is pregnant. WTF!

I hate you hate hate hate.

ARGH.

Of course, if they have any brains, they'll see it's a lie as if that was true, she'd mention it off the bat.

*stab*

I kept chanting 'stab her in the face.'
