Initially, this was going to be a post encompassing all of episode 12 of City Hunter but I have 2500+ caps (!!!!!) to sort through and my meta keeps going up and up. So expect a proper post around the weekend, but for now, have this scene from the first ten minutes. I have never seen anything so romantic in the entirety of the kdrama existence - nothing that had that combo of acting, meaning, cinematography, raw chemistry, and catering to my kinks.

On the umpteenth rewatch what struck me the most was that gesture of her extending her hand from the gurney - because it's such a huge leap of faith and show of vulnerability and need as she doesn't know he loves her. And the way he looks up at her, adoringly but also with guilt because he feels unworthy.

And I haven't even gotten into the backhug or bandage-changing or the hairwashing (hairwashing!) or the groceries (way to get YS to eat veggies? Call him Nana's husband :P) or anything else in this episode that is pure amazingness of Yoon Sung/Nana. He shines like a new penny when she is around because that is the first time he feels secure and loved.

I'll get to all the wonderful other stuff on the weekend, hopefully you guys will still care :)

I agree, for once he's paired with a female lead who's age-appropriate and stunning. Plus, he's so tall and masculine and she's tiny and feminine and both are so very vivid. It's a match made in drama heaven.

I love so much so much so much that they are literally sharing blood now - that he gave a part of himself so she would live (I love how ahjusshi is all 'you are wounded and giving blood now, you'll collapse' and he just shrugs it off).

I agree, I kept waiting for a kiss there. But then, if I were writing it, they would have totally ended making out during either the bandaging or the hair-washing. I loved how incredibly tender he was doing such a menial boring task because it's for her and he gets to touch her and help her and then the soap fight and they were so giddy.

I've seen some people a bit disappointed she didn't die and I don't get it. Leaving aside my Nana love, it would just turn him into a psycho worse than Undaddy and that would mean bad guys won.

even if they were terrible actors or the plot sucked i would still watch the drama, even if not being very interested and fast forwarding, just to see the pretty. my tiny heart can't help but hope that after a while they'll have another collaboration.

his love for nana is so selfless, so is her feelings for him, and that what is what i love about them, anyone can kill for their loved one, but not everyone will die for their loved one.

i must agree, if i was writing it every possibility would end up in a mare mature way. seriously, so many endless possibilities. and those gestures, other than being utterly beautiful even if so simply, also made me so happy. mostly because their banter, from day one, still is there, even knowing everything, he still acts like a school boy pulling her pigtails and i just adore it because it means that this is not making them cynical or hardening their souls.

and that i don't get, like you, ignoring my love for nana, how can they wish that? are they watching the same drama as me? haven't they noticed that nana is not a simply love interest? nana is hope and faith (in human kind), with nana dying yoon sung's hope and faith would die with her.

Yes, hey are very visually compatible. *sigh* I never thought either GHS or SYJ were compatible leading ladies for him.

I'd love another collab but kdramas never do that for some weird reason. They should be like twdramas.

I love that either would die for the other without a second thought but, even more, that they would be happy to live for each other.

I know - I love that their teasing is back and how she can read through it to the adoration underneath and lovingly teases him right back. He's only ever playful with Nana (and how wonderful that even his life and Undaddy haven't fully killed his capacity for that. He has such an amazing heart).

Yup, they'd be in bed 24-7 if I were writing this and it would be banned in Korea :)

Yeah, it's not about Nana love (though I do love her). Killing her, at least until the end, would negate the main thrust of the story as hope for the new generation (and even at the end - that would be akin to IRIS because YS would either die too or lose his soul thus the bad guys would win in the worst way imaginable).
