Ta-da!!!!!!!!
It's:

Ultimately - it's simple. For me, it is all about Hyemi. And Jin Gook is making my girl miserable while Sam Dong is making her happy. It's one thing when he was the one she could cry in front of, it's another if he's the one who's the cause of her tears.
I like Jin Gook. He's a good guy, even if horribly confused about his priorities, understandably so due to his awful family issues (he needs a parent a heck of a lot more than he does a girlfriend). And if Hyemi/JG are the endgame, I am fine with it (if he gets to suffer properly first). BUT - for now I am not on that ship because he needs to pay for leaving her alone for 6 months and for making her cry and for seemingly choosing Baekhee over her and just generally not being there for her. I shipped Hyemi/Jin Gook when he was her white knight - the first six eps had me rabidly shipping them. I don't begrudge him his feet of clay but my shipping preference for him to get the girl disappeared the moment he lost the "who takes better care of Hyemi" contest to his issues - I mean, whenever she's been in trouble, where was he? Causing it directly (by debuting without her despite his promise) or indirectly (his rabid fangirls roughing her up) or just not being there (who took care of her after Baekhee slammed her to the press? Who was by her side for 6 months when Jin Gook was touring God knows where? Sam Dong, that's who).
There is no doubt, JG and Hyemi are hot together - their angry, passionate chemistry is really off the charts, imo. But lately every such angry/passionate/chemistryfull interaction is leaving me with a lump in the pit of my stomach because they are both so hurt - I don't like being made miserable and Sam Dong makes her laugh and takes care of her and is just awesome with her. Sure, he's a bit immature, but he's growing fast (see the scene where he cofronts JG in ep 9 - eeeeeeek, where did the sweet unworldly bumpkin go? That was somethig elee) and...
OK, I better stop rambling.
Short version: Team Sam Dong. For now. Even if this was hella awesome:

Date: 2011-02-02 05:33 am (UTC)Also, OMG how cute are Jason/Pil Sook. I love that he didn't ask her to lose weight (he encouraged it so she could debut, not to win his affections) and that he totally had a thing for her before she was her svelte self. SO CUTE LIKE PUPPIES AND KITTENS.

Date: 2011-02-02 06:00 am (UTC)And my favorite scenes were when SamDong stood up to JinGook that he won't ever give up HyeMi and when SamDong kissed HyeMi on the cheek (and JinGook saw). This triangle is so awesome!
btw though i'm Team SamDong, i'm going to be mad if JinGook ends up with BaekHee. He's too good for her. i could sympathise with BaekHee at first, but now she's just too much. and it also kinda seems like she wants JinGook as a reward because he likes HyeMi.
episodes 8/9 were seriously amazing!
What do you think about the previews? I think that HyeMi is sleeping when JinGook is about to kiss her. Well, I hope so...

Date: 2011-02-02 05:54 am (UTC)Esp now that Sam Dong is all IN YOUR FACE to Jin Gook for his treatment of Hye Mi and abandoning her. Plus his intensity with HM at the rehearsal studio where he flat out told he is not giving up on ANYTHING, i.e. his dreams or HM. Love SD 2.0
I am also fine if the endgame is JG-HM, really, they have a special connection and great chemistry. But for now, JG is kinda behaving selfishly and a tad douchey. Coming and going as he pleased with HM. SD is consistent and always putting her first. That makes me melt.

Date: 2011-02-02 06:08 am (UTC)Yes, she's single now so I can see him courting her (though even there, if she doesn't like him, she doesn't have to have a wall of protective other dude she's dating) but it just makes me uncomfortable - not a big fan of posessiveness of someone who's not even your gf unless the relationship is portrayed as dysfunctional from the start.
He's been pretty good otherwise so I'll mark it as a glitch and move on though.
I think JG is behaving well enough under the circs but he needs to get a move on - passivity never won the girl - see Jason.
Also, not really related but I laughed like a hyena when I realized they were playing the theme from Schindler's List during the interview with JG and "I only adopted him" Daddy. I mean - wtf? I think the Daddy is awful and should rot in hell after being eaten by caterpillars but that is a bit much.

Date: 2011-02-02 09:32 am (UTC)I just watched epi 9 and I was a little pissed at him. /pout.
He really does need to stop being a slacker though.

Date: 2011-02-02 04:22 pm (UTC)I have no problem with him being a slacker. Why not? It's one thing if his goal was to be n1 entertainer in Korea. But all he wants to do is spend time doing something he loves and is good at (i.e. dancing). Clearly he can do so without busting his ass all the time - he got into K without even trying - so why should he? I just don't find his goals problematic at all.

Date: 2011-02-03 05:11 pm (UTC)That is true... I don't really have a problem with it, but it just seems so pointless to slack off when your good.. He's making it seem to other people that all he is is a slacker and not a good dancer.. etc.. when we know he is.
*Sorry if I don't make any sense... sounded better when I was thinking it up in my head....*

Date: 2011-02-02 11:22 am (UTC)In all seriousness, I don't like the possessive streak in SD, he acts like and OTP interferer, not like a saintly secondary guy. He is definitely not my type, he is no Rui, he is Yul.

Date: 2011-02-02 04:20 pm (UTC)But I agree about the posessive streak - a lot of soompiers were swooning over his "I never give up" speech to HM but it annoyed the heck out of me. It's fine to say this if you guys are in a mutually romantic relationship and are facing external obstacles but as it is that is just creepy - it denies her any volition. I mean - is he still going to chase her if she has a bf or likes someone else or even if she's single but very not interested? That's not romantic, that's horrible.
I had less of a problem with his confrontation with JG because JG isn't HM's official boyfriend but still - the undertone made me rather uneasy.

Date: 2011-02-02 08:14 pm (UTC)but i gave up on chosing an otp, if i do so i'll end up disapointed because the otp i like never stays together in the end, so i'll cheer for ot3 until the end.
