But first, I have to say that, drama, if you keep giving them scenes like this and not make them the end-game OTP, we are going to have words with you about narrative thrust.

Anyway, on to the show...



And a thousand slashers have just gone "ka-ching!"



I like Sam Dong with his Mom - they are both bumpkins (SD's accent is sort of getting on my nerves, tbh) but they are very sweet.



If this doesn't sum up SD's helpless crush on Hyemi, nothing does.



And SD tries to protect her yet again. Awwwwwwwwww.





She tells him to stop meddling because she doesn't want to be indebted. She's only trying to protect him, but the expression on his face is as if someone kicked a puppy.



Hyemi realizes that Jin Gook's family background is as messed up as hers.



This is just a pretty shot. Even if my attitude towards Baekhee continues to be "ugh, go away from my screen. I don't care if it's because you became the biggest superstar in Japan, just go away."



The BOF parody made me roll in the isles.




But not as much as did the Cinderella Unni one.



Jason talks Pil Sook out of dropping off. EEEE! He tells her he wants to a duet with her some time - yes pls drama, make it happen!







This scene just made me laugh much too hard.



OK, drama, let's make a bargain - even if they don't end up together, can we have a scene of them dancing? Pls?

I may not love his character as I do some of the others, but there is no question Kim Su Hyun is the best actor of the bunch. This scene broke my heart.






Here comes my favorite scene in the ep. I believe a description is not necessary. Saving! Hugging! Hands on hair! And she is now not reserved/ashamed/proud to cry in front of him. Ahhhhhhhhh.
















And she tells him about her family issues. And they make a pact to debut on stage together. OMG. My heart.







Seriously, I freely admit I am a biased shipper, but it's totally a "I am in love" face:



They walk back home only to discover Jin Gook's horrid Daddy waiting for his son, pissed off out of his mind.








And then as Hyemi watches in horror, JG's evil Daddy backhands him across the face. Ah, evil kdrama parents, how I missed you!





This is so much my new crack.

And this has nothing to do with anything above, but I just found one of my favorite songs on youtube - "Moments" from the Russian movie "17 Moments of Spring."

I like SD/HM but I can totally dig JG/HM. And seriously, Baek Hee needs mass therapy. (honestly, your thoughts on her are the same as mine referring to Son Hyuk from Athena. There are billions of JH/SH shippers and I'm like, "um, he's a sociopath.")

See, I can totally get JH/SH in a 'they are dysfunctional hot and it won't end well at all, probably in someone's death' way. But Baekhee is obviously not sexy, being a highschooler, so there is that.

UGH THIS DILEMMA D8 I love Samdong and how he's so cute and clueless and naive and exactly the opposite of Hyemi and maybe that's what she really needs but I also love Jinguk because he has so much in common with her and they understand how the other feels and that hug their faces and HIS HAND. IS ON HER HAIR. ;________;

Still, I'm rather pleased with how the writer's done so far (decent pacing, some really good scenes) so hopefully they'll continue to be smart about the character development and add some really awesome SD-HM scenes to turn me back around (if that is indeed the OTP).

And yes! Pilsuk + Jason duet would be amazing! IU's voice is rather gorgeous + they could definitely be taking better advantage of this fact:

This is also my newest crack. It's got such wonderful friendship development and growth among each of the kids. Honestly, JG-HY makes me shiver with the sexy tension. But SD-HM makes me warm and cuddly. I prefer the former at this point, but dagnabbit I don't want to choose.

Just an FYI, DH ep 8 is getting preempted next week for a soccer match. I almost had a hissy fit on my computer when I read the news. BOO.

To me it seem that they are pushing for a JG/HM and BH/SD pairing. Maybe BH falls in love with SD and gives him the K pendant hence he is the the singer K...he is suppose to be the main character after all.

Wasn't this a great episode. I laughed like a hyena at some parts of it. Who knew that JYP could be such a good comic act? He's hilarious. That part where he shows them how the wave is done... gosh! Those parodies were great too.

Oh dear, I'm so happy I'm not a shipper. Choosing the one HM should pair up is going to be tough, especially if they keep having the sort of moments she has with JG. They have cracking chemistry. Sam Dong is still in the shadows, so to speak but I guess there will be a time when he steps out. It sorta feels like Kim Su Hyun is holding back.

DH may truly prove out to be pure crack.

I am a shipper but I like that shipping in the drama is secondary to what is going on otherwise - growing up etc.

I've totally lost all of my hope for Baek Hee. I really hoped for her not to turn totally evil because honestly? It's so cliche :/

I actually can't really decide between Sam Dong and Jin Gook. Hye Mi and Jin Gook have awesome chemistry. He looks out for her and cares for her. But sometimes he seems to be more like a big brother. And then he's perfect boyfriend material.
Sam Dong is cute. But I think he's lacking Hye Mi scenes.
So maybe the writer is just very evil lulling us in with JG/HM scenes only to then bring on SD full force? Who knows. I'll be okay with whoever she ends up with.

In unconnected, when I was in Moscow, one of the days happened to be FSB-day! For this, they had a full marathon of "17 Moments of Spring" on TV and a big concert in Kremlin (both Putin and Medvedev were attending) .
