it's not. again, it's rather light-hearted the first few eps, then the angst hits and kinda never really goes away. I think they called it a sitcom because they didn't know any other word to describe it's more episodic-type style(no worries: there's still an overall story arc, fo sho).
SPOILER: the epic scene is one where she sees her boyfriend of a zillion years for the first time since he broke up with her and she pretends to be all ok even though they both know she isn't and they have a perfectly polite conversation, and then she leaves and just breaks down completely and then her OTP(a complete stranger at this point)comes along and..it goes from there. that was super spoilery but I know you pretty well so I figured that's what you wanted.
