Go on, tell me, you wouldn't want to watch this. I dare you!

Once the baby goes to sleep, I am marathonning the available eps of Orthros No Inu, a 10-episode currently airing Japanese drama which purports to be supernatural and dark.

OnI is supposed to be about conflict between two very different men - one is a man whose touch, somehow, can heal. However, currently he is in jail for multiple murders, and to say he is a good person would be extremely incorrect. The other, ironically, is a good man whose touch can kill. Their paths are about to cross...

I am in it for the potential dark anime-like vibe and Takki (a.k.a. Takizawa Hideaki, he of the horrendously long name, playing the 'demon' in question) - he is one of the rare Japanese actors I am actually fixated on to the degree where I will watch anything and everything with him. I mean, I watched 49-ep long taiga drama for him! (I am sure Ryo is fine but I have never seen him in anything as none of his previous dramas were my thing for various reasons).

Oh YES.

You can tell how excited I am by the fact that this drama seems to be shipless and I don't care and want to watch it anyway!

ETA: You know, I miss jdramas! Kdramas are my favorite and I watch the most of them, but there is nothing like a jdrama to really get into a mood - maybe because I sort of started with them.

Trust me, you'll need all the Takki you can get to get through the first 4 episodes. They were pretty bad (story and character-wise - i'm looking at you Ryo and Asami! ¬____¬) and the only good thing about them is how freakin' hot Takki is as evil!healer.

Also, the young one from HSJ who's a bad boy is pretty ok too. Oh and Sasaki Kuranosuke. Who's also evil. So basically, it's the Japanese version of sexy Slytherin.

But even if I didn't - I survived Yoshitsune and that was 49 eps of old men with beards talking incomprehensible politics.

I too am looking forward to hear what you have to say about this show. I love Tackey! I like to spell it that way too because he wears the most hideous clothing... and somehow pulls it off. Tackey: the demonic hotness... I can see that. Sounds promising.

Ryo has never been one of my favorites. And that was before he was all crazy domestic violence in the show with Eita and Ueno Juri. He just always looks to be in a bad mood.

Yes, Takky is one of those people(even though he is not one of my most favourite [but in the fav category] actors) that i watch everything he is in too. i sat through painful and boring hours of SOS and Boku Dake no Madonna just for him. not to mention watching the entire Yoshitsune too.

anyway, YES. you need all the Takky you can get to see the 1st 4 eps but a miracle happens and ep5 (and 6) gets unexpectedly very good.

Ryo is GREAT with dark. Last Friends was extremely dark, him being the BIG reason for it. I plan to watch this after my current drama :D

Ryo can be alluring in the right role. If you overlook his character's lack of sense/backbone in the first four episodes, you may enjoy him in Orthros quite a bit. I have a soft spot for the kid.

Hee, imagine how Takki felt watching that kid grow like mushroom. Since you're also starting Buzzer Beat, check out Ryo & Pi way back when. Ryo is older than Pi, believe it or not.
