I know a lot of people on my flist download from aja-aja. I have also used this site repeatedly for months and it was fine.

HOWEVER. Today I have got a nasty case of malware from the site. Nothing Spyware Doctor and some manual tinkering can't fix but BE CAREFUL.

Seriously.

I don't know why it's happening lately but the site's gotten dangerous that way. I've seen complaints to that effect on d-addicts too.

If you can, use something else. If you can't, still - don't bother. Unless you want to be like me and spend an hour debugging your computer.

Oh dear. I've been on that site all week, downloading Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance episodes! I'm in the middle of downloading Episode 25 now.

Spyware doctor plus some manual scrubbing seems to have fixed the proble but yeah - be careful. Hopefully you can dl without problems as long as you don't click on popups and run a virus scap asap once you are done dling.

Good to know as I use the site all the time too. Haven't noticed anything so far but then I've got all kinds of safeguards going so I don't get popups and java based scripts are blocked as well. I'm a bit paranoid that way. Have to run my malware/virus gear now when I get home just to be on the safe side. Gah, it'll take hours.

Any idea if someone has informed the Aja-Aja staff about this?

I was reading d-addicts and they use a new ad service - I bet that one supplies all that gunk. I am all for them having rebenue but if every download will result in my wasting time in debugging, I am gettng my dls from some other site.

I hope they get it sorted out, it's been so convenient and I'd hate to have to find somewhere else to do my dls.

I just run the debugging + virus programs and none found a thing. I'm using Firefox with Adblock Plus and NoScript, so they seem to be doing their jobs.

Apparently they are not doing anything about it - they like this ad service so they are sticking with it. Which is their prerrogative but I am going to obtain my files elsewhere...

I've been noticing that lately with aja (I'm actually using it for Resurrection right now). They have a lot of ads popping up now.

*sigh*

I really don't want to have to find another site because they're so good and they give me one big file which is so much easier than when it's all split up.

We'll see.

Yeah - one wrong quick click and I spent a while debugging. Ugh. I hope they decide to do eomething about it.

That's scary!! I've never run into problems with their site (or any ddl sites, for that matter... on the other hand I've gotten many viruses from torrenting, which is why I don't do it anymore), so thanks for the heads up, I wouldn't have known otherwise.

Yeah - they got a new, sleazy ad provider.
