Kdrama greediness...

(KOH is such a pretty drama!)
I am trying and failing to keep with kdramas this season. Unlike the summer season where there was nothing I wanted to watch, now there are 5 (!!!) I want to watch.
* Beethoven Virus: I like the cast and the story seems adorable and kooky but I am going to hold off until it's done because it has the potential of either being incredibly good or having the ending which is entirely rage-making (see: Powerful Opponents). Also, I am rooting for Jang Geun Suk to get the girl. Which might be iffy as he is not first-billed. Come on, you can do it, Emo Prince!
* East of Eden: I am dying to watch this. Family sagas! Revenge!
* Kingdom of the Winds. I saw most of the first ep and loved it (I love period epics) but three eps are already subbed. I am so behind. But Song Il Gook! As an abandoned son of the King! With awesome fight skills, OTP, and production values out of this world.
* Tazza just started and I am dying to watch. Yeah, yeah, the plot is interesting and Han Ye Seul is lovely, but mainly I am curious whether I will be able to withstand the combined hotness of Jang Hyuk and Kim Min Joon on screen at the same time or spontaneously combust.
* And Painter of the Wind is about to start. I am dying to see it. The leads are both awesome, it's a period story, and the whole thing about a woman pretending to be a man so she could study painting and also avenge her father's murder? Oh yes. Yes please.
Argh! I want to watch all 5 (though holding off on BV). Wheeeeen? Neeed time!
King Yuri, main character's father. I love him.

EoE is 50 eps long - they have to stretch it out :) Plus, they have finished with it now and we get things like this:

Date: 2008-09-22 10:02 pm (UTC)Yeah, Lawyers is rather neat and has my kind of OTP. They are so sweetly goofy together. I even like The Other Guy and Gal.... and all the scondary characters. Hmmm... I think I've developed a 'thing' for Lee Sung Jae.... dang.

Date: 2008-09-22 09:59 pm (UTC)(I was actually more reminded of a tv version of some of those torture romance novels; I think you recently reviewed a book of it)
I still have no clue whether you would like them, but I'd be really curious to see whether they have chemistry by your defintion or not. [they don't make me swoon with them the way for example Mick and Beth did, but it's kinda interesting for me to watch from a technical writing POV how they intend to achieve what they want to achieve]

Date: 2008-09-22 10:07 pm (UTC)Torture romance? Hmmmm? *racks brain to think what that would be*
Re: Random
Date: 2008-09-22 10:16 pm (UTC)It's strange because so far the show feels very OTPy.
BTW, here is the pack scene I was talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G8XYZEW3GU
I'm torn of whether I should be annoyed at the faux grittiness, love the way they are really playing out one of the typical vampire romance clichee scenes or just enjoy the humor. (at the moment I like the show mostly for the humor; Even if they seem to rely a lot on the idea that Southern people and Southern accents are inherently funny)

Date: 2008-09-22 10:29 pm (UTC)Here is the other Bill/Sookie scene that really made me laugh. The "get it over with" one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZCGrTmaKlU
BUt I can see how she might be a really annoying heroine to follow. I mean cutesie waitress doesn't really make the most appealing "cool and identifyable woman" heroine.
