I love the ep Gill Girl, but Medium and Brain eps are quite good too.
So much good stuff. We have Logan call Max over, clearly terrified and Max comes across a scene of carnage because...Logan has to babysit his 6 year old niece. Heeee. And then he begs Max to help and they are just so adorable I want to give them the anti-virus cure and lock them in a room with a bed. And then the kid leaves and all of a sudden Logan is not feeling well and is all hot and there are rashes on his body and Max remembers that the kid kissed her and then kissed Logan and she just knows Logan has caught the virus Manticore has programmed her with. She manages to call Asha to help her get Logan to a hospital because even though he is dying there on the kitchen table she can't touch him. And she is falling apart in the hospital and then she ends up in a chapel praying for a miracle and my heart breaks for her a little when she tells God she'll do anything if he'd save Logan. And it turns out what Logan had was Chicken Pox. Phew. But Max is understandably severely freaked and Logan offers her a drive home and she refuses and he realizes what it means to their tentative, fragile comfort and he looks shattered and she walks away but she keeps turning to look at him, as if to make sure he's still there and he just keeps looking at her. And then she tells the whole thing to Original Cindy and she is so fragile when she asks OC not to laugh about a miracle and then she tells her that she should keep Logan far away to keep him safe but that would giving him up and never seeing him again and you can tell she just can't. And she keeps looking at his throughout the ep as if she can't believe her eyes he's still there. My poor, angsty, tortured OTP. I think she helped the mermaid people because in a way, she was giving them the "ending" she wants and can't have with Logan. And both of them keep looking for the cure but don't tell the other person because they don't want to get each other's hopes up. And of course, I love when Logan broadcasts Brain's picture on the EO bulletin which is exactly what Max would want. They know each other so well and have the same wavelength so neatly...Love.
In more amusing news, Alec demonstrates his usual deeply buried decency when he wants to rescue Mermaid Girl. Of course, he is getting a kick having Max pose as a stripper as well (the scene where she comes over to talk and he tells her they have to be pretending as if they belong so she straddles him and starts mechanically ruffling his hair and he snidely asks if she's done that before, and she keeps doing the hair thing until he annoyedly disentangles her fingers is hilarious). They are totally like siblings who annoy the heck out of each other but stick with each other just the same. Not seeing any romantic vibes here, which, since Logan/Max are my OTP is fine by me. I love the bits where he keeps teasing her about Logan and Asha in the Brain ep: he just loves winding her up. Their banter cracks me up. And then Alec comes with her to the rescue because "he is bored" :P I love the boy, especially now that I know he represses some serious angst. Of course, his and Max's world views are totally incompatible: she is an idealist, someone who does want to help (even if it took Logan to open her eyes to the fact), and he really is not. But hey, he's certainly fun to watch.
