Interesting Reading
Jun. 27th, 2006 06:04 pmAm reading Oriana Fallaci's A Man, which is an excellently written (at least the translation is good, since I can't read Italian well, unfortunately) and rather disturbing story whose protagonist is a Greek freedom fighter against a military junta. Apparently it's a book quite well-known and well-recieved in Europe (it's over 20 years old) but I've only just found out about it. Even more interestingly, the author (who is apparently a controversial cause celebre herself), based the protagonist on a real-life person, who was also her lover, Alexandros Panagoulis. Hmmmm.
I do recommend.
P.S. Is the movie Z based on his assassination btw?
