Before A Thousand Days' Promise started, I sort of assumed that it was about a loving couple and then a woman gets Altzheimer's. The couple is married, dating, whatever.

Not so fast! Apparently Su Ae is the 'other woman.' You see, Kim Rae Won may love her, but he's marrying the secondary girl.

WHAT?!

I am not even going to get into the fact that I'd like my heroine to have a bit more self-respect than to be the other woman. No, most of my ire is reserved for KRW! WTF, scumbag?! Either you love Su Ae, in which case you should grow some balls and marry her. It's not 1211 - you are not going to be disembowelled by your rich family. Or, you don't love her enough to not marry the arranged fiance - in which case you, sir, are a total scumbag to both women - you should let Su Ae go asap and make it work with your fiance.

Ugh.

How can I have that much rage and I haven't even watched this yet?

I love makjang. I love melodrama. I love conflicted characters. What I do not love is a drama trying to sell me that a scumbag and a weak woman are star-crossed lovers I should feel sorry for.
