Still fixating on Doctor Who
Jun. 30th, 2008 09:12 amGuess howmany times I've rewatched a particular scene from this week's ep in the last nine hours? Five. And counting.
GLEE
David Tennant: You know, just in terms of acting a scene like that, if Rose is over there, and she’s all you want in the Universe, and you’re desperate to get to her, you want to be able to run flat out, don’t you? .... He knows that Rose mustn’t come back, that it goes against all the laws of space and time. And yet, the chance to get to see her again is clearly something that he is very excited about and delighted by.
RTD: Finally they get to this wrecked, deserted, night-time, battered, Dalek-invaded street – civilization gone – across the greatest distance, greatest possible distance, there they are, her with a great big gun, him with the Tardis, and they run toward each other like the biggest romance you’ve ever seen in your life.. And, as in all great love stories, he’s cut down by a Dalek. I think that’s what should happen in most films, really. Gone With The Wind, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill – they all should have had the hero cut down by a Dalek, and they would have been vastly improved.
David Tennant: It’s a .. It’s a moment of high emotion for all involved. We can’t have a happy ending, especially not when there’s a cliffhanger to be worked up towards. Rose is faced with the fact that she might be about to lose another Doctor, just as she’s managed to come goodness-knows how many zillion light years to be reunited with him.
RTD, you are awesome and LOLtastic, I would pay $$$ to see Dalek inserted into Notting Hill.
