Paging Dr. Min!
Jun. 20th, 2008 09:54 amReasons to watch Thank You:

(kdramas, don't ever stop with the fanservice!)
I am about ten minutes into Thank You and Dr. Min is my newest fictional crush!
He scolds a sick child who runs around the hospital because she fell and spilled juice on his shoes! He vipes said shoes on the pajamas of another kid who scolds him for being rude! He snaps at the wife of a man who needs to get surgery that if she doesn't hurry it up she'll be going to a funeral and is in generally disgusted with her! (But then does the surgery anyway and is really good at it...)
This is clearly proof that my tastes in fictional men are abysmal but I love him because of it! Like pie? Well, if the pie is full of acid, that is.
But of course we get lovely hints that he isn't a total bastard by birth but because something happened. Not just the surgery thing (he is totally hiding from being thanked, too). But also one of the kids says that when he (kid) was in the hospital a year ago, the Dr. used to bring him bisquits and cajole him...
Hmmmm. I sense trauma. I have a lovely antenna for that sort of thing. Also, is it just me or is Jang Hyuk about a billion times hotter here than he was in Robbers? A lot of it is the lack of shaggy hair and stubble, but it's also the attitude: Dr. Min is competent, reserved and curt. Clearly I find these qualities more appealing than goofy gigolo :P (I am totally impressed by him btw, he is totally different here than in Robbers).
We just met the Heroine, too, and her life couldn't be more different: she lives in a small community with a senile father and her small daughter (and dreams of being the princess for a change, not the struggling one).
Oh, I am going to LOVE this!
Little kid, you spilled juice on my shoes which is a capital offense!

Barely being civil to a lady who is reluctant to have surgery on her husband done:

Being his competent self. I find nothing as sexy or attractive in a man (fictional or real) as competence.

Heroine's dream:

Reality:

Hiding out in the shower from being thanked:

Heroine comes back to her real home:

And then I had to run!
