In which my hate knows no bounds...
Jun. 17th, 2008 11:09 pmDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE, you scumbag ATTEMPTED RAPIST!!!!!
*die now please*
I have never hated a Secondary Guy the way I hate the one in Winter Sonata. Quite a find, that one.
Unreasonably jealous, guilt-tripping, dissatisfied, manipulative, demeaning, whiny, self-pitying, with violent tendencies, and yeah...attempted rapist!
DIE.
And he is shocked, shocked, shocked when Heroine wants to break up with him after this and gets all 'how dare you' and righteously indignant. And then tries every means possible to force her into marriage.
What a charmer.
Did I mention he tells Hero that he (Secondary Guy) is not immoral, unlike Hero. I mean, what's a little attempted rape now and then. Hero's worst crime? To break up with his gf when he realized he didn't love her any more. Clearly, Mr. Attempted Rapist is a fine judge of moral character.
One one hand, we have Bae Yong Joon, who seems to have figured out the concept that if you love somebody, you want their happiness, even if it might hurt you (I love it when he tells Heroine that he will abide by her decision even if it's not him but other guy). Oh, and before we forget it, is Bae Yong Joon. On other hand, we have Attempted Rapist Adjusshi. What a choice!
Seriously, I have never seen such a loathsome personality. I mean, about the most benign thing he does is rant at the Heroine who is injured and in a hospital (because it's all about him, of course) and leaves the sick woman by herself. The guy who picks her up that next morning is not him but BYJ.
I repeat. A fucking attempted rapist.
DIE.

Date: 2008-06-18 03:35 am (UTC)I really disliked him even before ar, for reasons enumerated above (it's always about him!) but after ar! My God. And the thing that really drove me insane wasn't just the AR but the fact that next morning he was all indignant and in her face because how dare she not want to be with him...
And I am not even someone who would automatically consider Attempted Rape-type situation a deal-breaker! There was one in Que Sera Sera and I know you hated the guy but I didn't: I found him interesting, if not likeable, and didn't loathe him with every fiber of my being. But the guy there was supposed to be dysfunctional and at the edge of his rope seeing the gal engaged to another (as opposed to being percieved by everyone as wholesome and being enraged because his fiancee works with someone who is a man). Not to mention he stopped and, also importantly, wasn't whining about being the wronged one afterwards. OK, that was a hell of a digression.
Secondary Guy here has such a sense of entitlement I want to strangle him.

Date: 2008-06-18 07:15 am (UTC)Yes, this was the point when I really, really wanted to strangle him, after I'd kicked him around the room for a few times. Unfortunately he does not get any better until waaayyy later and even then he gets these irritating relapses.
I guess they made him such a mooron just to make BYJ's characer shine even more. ;P

Date: 2008-06-18 07:42 am (UTC)Yes, the secondary guys is very, very, very, annoying.
I'm rewatching Beautiful Days. More Choi Ji Woo! She does great with her male partners, doesn't she? Although she kind of plays the same character over and over. Teehee
Bae Yong Jun is such love.
I want you to watch Hotelier!!!!

Date: 2008-06-18 07:52 pm (UTC)Yeah, CJW is the steadfast quiet girl in both here and WS.
Secondary Guy? Oh, I wish CJW was spunkier and kicked him in the face. He is so awful, all about not seeing her as a person but merely object he wants.
