Because after Antique Bakery, he just signed on to a movie titled Kitchen, co-starring Shin Min Ah (yes! My The Devil otp is back together! Minus the murders, one hopes). The movie is apparently based on a Japanese novel, and apparently his movie Mom is actually her cross-dressing movie father?????????

Mmmm...love soompi.

And I even have an appropriate icon! *glees, thanks [livejournal.com profile] timescout*

Ah! I've read Kitchen. It's a fairly short and yet rather good novel. Translated into English, so you can find it on amazon or ebay for like, two dollars. The novel won, like tons of awards in Japan. It's about girl (Shin Min Ah, I would guess) who had a fondness for kitchens. After the death of her grandma (I think) she moves in with her friend (Joo Ji Hoon) and his cross dressing dad. Lots of little moments and maybe a bit of UST is what defines the novel. I'm looking forward to this film.

More JJH? Thank you, universe (and the Korean film industry)! I really liked those two in the Devil (though warning - I don't know how it ends!). And a cross-dressing dad; excellent.
Thanks for sharing!

I won't spoil you :)

Btw, yes, the scene with him choking on the noodles because of memories is one of my all-time favorites, too.

We are catching up rapidly, so never fear, I'll be squeeing over the whole thing soon enough. Ah, the noodle scene. Just beautiful; I felt a bit like crying myself.
Nice icon! Do you happen to know the name of the actor who plays Kang Oh Soo?

Oh me too. This weekend, definitely more picspam.

His name is Uhm Tae Woong. He was also the lead in Resurrection, which is supposed to be really good, and in secondary roles in Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang (where he played a total sob) and Nine-Tailed Fox.

Oh yes please, more picspam! And I shall now have to add Resurrection, Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang and Nine-Tailed Fox to the 'must watch' basket *grin*.

I wasn't near over Hae-in and Seung-ha, so yes. :)

And it's a Yoshimoto novel! I haven't actually read Kitchen yet, but I guess this means it moves up my list on my next trip to the bookstore.
