Dramas of the early summer season...
Jun. 4th, 2008 09:53 amSeeing that
filmi_girl did hers, here is my list of upcoming dramas I am interested in, for the early summer season. Now, I can’t say I would necessarily be watching all (or any) of them as they air as it’s not my thing, but will be following them to see if they should be watched once I have all of them. This is only for kdramas as I only learn about jdramas/twdramas once they start airing. (Also, I didn't put any dramas that are in the middle of airing already, even if I am interested, such as A Bittersweet Life, or ones that have months to go, like Daemul, but only if they just started or are about to start in June).
What: ILJIMAE

When: Currently airing
Who: Lee Jun Ki, Park Shi Ho, Lee Moon Sik, Han Hyo Joo
Episodes: 20
Plot: Iljimae is a noble robber, with a tragic family history and a lot of prettiness…
Why: I love period dramas! I love swords! I love Lee Jun Ki and peach blossoms and horrific amounts of hurt/comfort and tangled families and pretty love stories. I love!
What: WHEN IT’S AT NIGHT

When: June 23, 2008
Who: Kim Sun Ah, Lee Dong Gun
Episodes: 16
Plot: Cho Hee is a 29-year-old ‘spinster’ who joins the Culture property exchange with the intentions of protecting and getting back the national treasures. There, she ends up embroiled with a flirtatious ancient fine arts study professor who is the group's consultant as they go round seeking the national treasures.
Why: I adore Lee Dong Gun, and the plot sounds wackily delightful. Plus, adventurous academics FTW!
What: STRONGEST CHIL WOO

When: June 9, 2008
Who: Eric Moon, Goo Hye Sun, Lee Eon
Episodes: ??? [16-24, I assume]
Plot: A meek civil servant by day, a hot and justice-seeking assassin by night (with a star-crossed love story!). Why resist…
Why: See Iljimae. Subtract amnesia but add assassins.
What: GOURMET

When: Starts June 16, 2008
Who: Kim Rae Won, Nam Sang Mi, Kwon Oh Joong, Kim So Yeo
Episodes: 24
Plot: Sung-Chan is a talented cook. He peddles food from his truck all over the country to discover the best and precious traditional Korean cuisines. Jin Soo, a contracted journalist in a news agency, dreams to become the best columnist on food and nutrition. Jin Soo has bright and vivid personality. She came across Sung Chan in various occasions and then falls in love with him.
Why: This one is a maybe for me. I adore KRW, but neither of the two dramas I have seen him in I liked as dramas (My Love Patzzi was just awful on all fronts, and Love Story in Harvard, despite being an uber-hit, was ridiculously and unintentionally funny. Even if he was awesome in both).
