Iljimae and Powerful Opponents

In other news, I am still loving Powerful Opponents as much as ever. The scene below especially!





This is about the most adorable scene ever. Ggot Nim and her Daddy. EEEE! I have decided, much as I adore Young Jin and the UST she has with Gwan Pil, by far my favorite relationship in this drama is between Gwan Pil (a totally different man around his daughter), and the solemn, too-mature, shy-around-others Ggot Nim. It just makes my heart go funny to watch them together.





That made me LOL and AWWW at the same time. Ggot Nim is basically trying to push him to date, LOL. She is all 'you work a lot and at your age it's normal to go on dates' (I love her coded OK to any such activity). And he is all 'It's OK, I don't have much success with women' so she asks why and he is all 'I don't have a fun personality and they tell me I am arrogant.' And then she points out Young Jin EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! And he is all 'her temper is as bad as mine.' LOLOLOLOL.







Su Ho is definitely hot.





This sequence just might be my favorite in the drama. They must protect Su Ho at a party so they all have disguises so they'd blend in. The boys go to change:





And they keep waiting for Young Jin who is taking forever and then she finally peeks out:



And is all 'this is ridiculous outfit, promise not to laugh.' Oh honey, GP isn't laughing.





She nerves herself...



Aaand...



Oh boy. I love the way he just keeps staring and staring and staring. Like he can't look away.







I can see why, she is gorgeous.



Did I mention more staring?









And then when she comes close, he forces himself to turn away as if he isn't looking at all. Heeeee. That's even more of a giveaway, GP, sorry.





And all the boys tell her she looks awesome except GP and then GP gets prodded on his opinion and so he gets up and walks away really rapidly and is all 'we are off-schedule.' LOL. If YJ wasn't as dense as three thick bricks, she'd totally realize you like her when you act like that!

Su HO, OTOH, is very very open (as usual), quite the opposite of GP:





Oh boy, LJW is HOT.





EEEE! She trips and GP is instantly at her side helping EEEE!



And touching her back EEEE! (Whatever, am shipper, leave me alone).





I don't ship YJ/Su Ho, but that was a heck of a sexy scene.





But poor GP! Because he is all unnoticed and he is going to see and awwww!

Does PO finally have an OTP? I want to watch it but I think that as long as it doesn't become explicitly clear, I'll restrain myself.

And I've been so pumped up waiting for Iljimae, but here's the thing: on one hand we have Lee Jun Ki = automatic awesome. On the other we have a sageuk (I have no idea how to spell that) drama. I'm not a HUGE fan of those, to put it lightly.

Oh! But if it starts out like Hong Gil Dong did (happy, funny) and then bitch slaps me in the face with an ending like HGD's someone will be very hurt. Mr/Mrs. Dorama Writer Person, I'M LOOKING AT YOU.

PO doesn't have a clear-cut OTP yet. The way it's going, the writers are going to keep us in suspense till the last ep I bet.

Re: Iljimae. It looks like a Fusion sageuk, and I've loved every fusion sageuk I've seen (for one, they aren't as long as the 'real' sageuks!). I don't really know what kind of an ending this Iljimae will have. Hopefully more cheerful than HGD (the ending made total sense to me but it also made me want to die, or even better, kill). But you never know...noble robbers with issues seldom retire.

It did make sense. Rebels like him don't usually live to see just how much they've changed their world. Here's the thing. Fuck realism. I wanted happy ending. Everything started off so freaking light and "Oh! Isn't our world kooky and colorful. We're rebels. Hahahaha!"

And then- BOOM, bitch. You've just entered the angst zone. Hope you don't cry easily, 'cause we're killing EVERYONE off.
