early stages yet.

It's not directly addressed, but it's clear that a man who works with the troupe is in love with her mother, which is sad as he not only helped her to be with Jin Yi's father, but also helped her hide Jin Yi after her birth, then to reunite them.

Right now Jin Yi is 16 and having her "first love" and they're still in "we're cute and young and shy and haven't stopped to think about the obstacles or inherent problems about an official's son and a courtesan in training" but it's looming...his mother is miserable because his father is always bringing mistresses into their home and flaunting them, and that alone will cause problems, and d-wiki gives me an idea of how it will turn out. But there's already been chasing through streets, secret meeting, love letters(he copied a poem from a book she'd read without realizing she'd read it,then had to hand over the REAL letter when he was caught) and catching your falling OTP so she won't get broken bones followed by accidental kissing.

I'm enjoying it much...it's almost painfully pretty on all levels.
