Movie Rec of the day is Kuch Naa Kaho. It's a breezy romantic fluffcom starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

The plot involves Raj (played by Abhishek) who goes back to India for the engagement/wedding of his cousin. He has little interest in marriage, but Namrata (Aishwarya) has been "appointed" by his family to find him a suitable bride. Needless to say, they fall in love, even when Abhishek discovers that she was previously married and has a child with whom he bonds. But is something looming on the horizon? This being a Bolly movie, of course it is.

So, why watch?

Well, I adore Abhi and Ash is beautiful, but there are plenty of other reasons: the plot is fun and light and delightful. It's like sinking into a warm bath. There are plenty of really funny moments (my favorite being the ways Raj gets rid of prospective brides), there is a strong feminist streak in the movie, and best of all, Raj is a movie hero I could really fall for: funny, warm, laid-back, and strong in a quiet, no-fuss way. Namrata is a lucky lady.

Flirty much?

Raj and Namrata get personal. This mysteriously gives them powers of teleportation to a raft:

Raj and a VERY ugly bit player as Raj excercises his sense of humor again:

No, don't bite my neck!

Mmm, colorful!

I want my man to set up a huge lightbulb background and dip me! Now, that's creative! :P

Raj as pretend-Dad to Namrata's kid:

Even if it means he'll have to deal with this teacher:

Raj being lackadaisical:

OK, they are drenched. Now you know they are in love:

Honestly, I don't like Rani better than you! (inside BW joke, sorry any non-BW fans reading this):

Mush:

Argh, I am scared of the blue filter!

Guuuh, she is beautiful:

And with this film you can just sit and watch it again. (which I do...) The little boy is cuuute. 'I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream' Hee.

This is going to sound stupid, but how do they get the middle of the head/hair part gem string things to stay in place? I have always wondered that.

I suppose the fact that it must be a bit heavy combined with the possibility of having little hooks or pins to get it to stick to the hair. After seeing what the hairdresser did with my wedding hairdo, with the help of some hairspray and 37 pins, I think anything is possible :)

It does get hooked on to hair in the back. Not that I've ever worn one, but I've seen people who have.

love love love this movie ten trillion times over. the actual film itself and the behind the scenes stuff when he was acting all adorable made me such a fan. abhiiii!

oh man, there was a major J-A scare today - ashutosh on rediff was talking about how he hasn't finalized a lead man and that hrithik was just a rumor or something. !!! but then someone said that it was just an old interview that rediff (STUPIDLY!) put up. *phew*

I love this film. It's so cute and funny, but also has a good message about women's empowerment. My favourite scenes were the ones where Raj got rid of his prospective brides, truly hilarious.

Oh yes. The one where he meets the bride in the temple and babbles about Babloo and past lives...ROFL.

I just loved his wacky sense of humor.

I love how expressive still shots of Bollywood films are. (this is ayn_rand_fan_13, I can't log in right now)
I like blue filters! They make everything...blue. It's sad that I'm actually in philosophy class right now.
