Buffy (with a side of Hanadan)

I saw the preview for ep 11 (haven't seen 10 yet as bad fan and got sidetrcked by Tree of Heaven). They are doing the Canada storyline on Hanadan, people! I love that storyline, with Makino lost in the blizzard and Domyouji finding her. I love it! I only wish they'd do the 'stripping to undies to share bodyheat in front of fire' thing but hey, Hanadan has been really tame so far, so probably no such luck.

Still.

In other news, I rewatched Buffy's 'Prophesy Girl' last night and Buffy's heartbreak and fear over realizing she is fated to die breaks my heart. She is such a little girl at that moment. Also, I love Xander going to the rescue, and getting Angel to go along (I love that here, Buffy is more important to him than his grudges. Wish it stuck). I love Buffy kicking ass in her froofy prom dress. Love her face 'loser' at the dead Master. Seeds for her freak out of first ep of S1. It's so wonderful yet sad to see this yet unhardened Buffy.

And I know it was Buffy's 10th recently (makes me feel old). I never watched it when it originally aired (it started my freshman year in college). Best Friend loved it though and kept raving about it. She tried to describe the plot of Graduation to me and B/A stuff and it did catch my attention but I was in a 'no TV shows' mode and 'it's named BUFFY?' so no go. And then during 5th season, I caught reruns of S2 and was hooked.

Episode 11 is going to pwn everyone gawd it's going to be one hell of an episode. What with the prom, grad, the canada arc, everything else!!!!!! goodness. I think I'm going to die on episode 11. Hahaha.

Just prepare yourself for episode 10. You WILL hate Umi. I've just been reading comments everywhere and half of them basically say 'Die Umi Die!'.

Although Canada arc; SQUEEEEE!!! I'm just hoping as he frantically searches for her in the snow he gets back his memories. Cos then we can have an awesome prom scene! :D

Man Buffy's 10th? Jesus. That makes me feel old too! I must have been in my first year at high school, a mere 11 year old. Wow!

Thank you! I'm exceptionally boring on lj though. I never have time to update it and I have waaaaay too much going on atm to be bothered (1st year of university. Who the hell said it was EASY? Grrrr)

Do. I had a pen on the desk and I was so tempted at several points just to stab her with it! I think Toda Erika does deserve some praise for taking on a role so widely hated within the Handan community!

Gah. As nice as that would be its unlikely as HYD has been so tame throughout the series. Hell all we've got from our OTP is some hand holding and only for like a few seconds at that!

HYD has been so tame throughout the series

I really wonder why that is so? I know jdramas are more concervative than twdramas but even by jdrama (or kdrama) standards, this is exceptionally tame. Fine, I have come to terms that we won't get a Goong or Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake-level kissing scene(s), but it seems very hands-off which is odd.

I agree particularly as HYD is supposed to be aimed at an older audience. I mean its aired at 10 o'clock which is late in terms of most drama's. Unless its different in Japan. I mean here in the UK most drama's are aired at 9.

Hmmm. I'm very curious as to why too. Could be the producers or actors themselves weren't comfortable about big, passionate kisses? I mean Matsumoto Jun has done big kiss scenes before (Look at Kimi Wa Petto!) so it would be no big deal. Interesting.

I am very surprised by it. Could it be Inoue Mao? Because source material had plenty of stuff and other jdramas have more things too. Once again, not looking for Kamisama levels of kissing, though would be nice, but the complete lack of anything even a little bit 'sexy' seems odd.

Maybe so. Although if given the chance to kiss Matsumoto Jun I'd be first in line! Maybe they just didn't feel it was necessary. I mean in a way they hadn't seen each other for a year at the beginning of the series and Doumouyji then proceeded to mess Makino about with his whole 'I'm dating Shiguru, but I'm still in love with you and you're the only women for me'. Lord knows he managed to hash things up several times in this series! Not to mention that Makino just destroyed his heart in episode 10. So maybe the producers just felt it wouldn't be justifiable. But they better give us at least one kiss between TxT in this series!

Sorry for the long rambly-ness of this post! Got carried away. I really need a life away from HYD!
