While browsing through a bookstore yesterday, I came across a yaoi manga which wasn't of much interest but OMG, the ads on the back totally were.

The publisher was selling t-shirts like 'I love boys' (on the front) 'With other boys' (on the back). Or 'Seme: it's lonely at the top' and 'Uke: rooting for the underdog' (for those of you who don't know, seme and uke are 'top' and 'bottom' terms in yaoi).

Do people really buy and wear those T-shirts? OMG. ROFL.

I am also so excited! This evening, I'll be seeing William Dalrymple, the author of The White Mughals. He is going to be doing a lecture and YAY!!!

Last but not least. I haven't watched BSG season finale. Must remedy pronto.

Yes. Five min in an anime conventioin and you will see shirts like that and worse. Around the South Eastern cons there is the yaoi guy who is decorated in head to toe with yaoi shirts and buttons and other things. He also carries around a wooden paddle with yaoi on it.

I know. He is at every convention I have ever been to. I think those paddles are the worst thing ever. When I see a person with the paddles, wether they say catgirl or yuri or yaoi or whatever else I go the other way.

she comes back from conventions with stories like this...and guys who are dressed like characters from a series kissing and hugging and such so the fangirls can take pictures.

The only truely scary thing about a convention was the hotel we had to stay in in ghetto of Atlanta on St. Patrick's Day. You don't even want to know about the clubs that were across the street from us or about the people wondering in and out of the hotel.

Generaly the worst are men dressing up as woman or in costumes that just don't fit anyone and you see alot of things you wish you hadn't seen. The Yaoi guy and his paddles....though there was a dealer selling Jrock and he was dressed up as a gothic lolita style. I thought that was fitting for some reasons. But yeah anyways I'm sure once I come back from MTAC and the Texas con I'll have lots more worse stories.

they are scary and they cost money...i wanna go to one, but likely one that will have a lot of online friends so i can meet them.

the idea of going to a bookstore and not getting book(barring lack of money) makes me sad.

BTW, posted scrapped princess MVs to lj...have hankies if you watch(crupeteer thinks you should watch it, too)
