Very quickie thoughts on Maelstrom

Battlestar Galactica.



Short summary: no body, no death. I haven't read/watched seven billion things since childhood for nothing. So unless we see a body or Katee Sachoff signing on for a different show, I am on the 'Kara is around' badwagon.

Meanwhile, I vote HeloAnders and Lee engage in working out their issues and grief through sexing each other. Come on, you know you want to see it. They can take turns wearing blonde wigs and calling each other 'Kara' in bed. Leoben can videotape.

I am also amused to note I got friended by starbuckisdead. If the intent was to spoil, talk about a wasted effort. There hasn't been a spoiler I haven't attacked and devoured :D Ahhhh, it makes one feel warm fuzzies to be 'cool' enough to be on trolling list.

Yes, I will have proper meta. Either full of woe or not. Depending. Right now am cranky about it all. Aeryn Mark 2 in DMD of Farscape this isn't. *cranky*

If she really is dead? I won't say I'll stop watching, but my interest does plummet down significantly. Don't screw it up, RM. You got a tough act to pull off, here.

It's scifi. Even if there WERE a body, there would be a way for her to come back. I haven't heard of her leaving the show, except that she's not in the rest of the season. But that's only a few more eps. I just can't imagine they're getting rid of Kara, especially since she's RM's favorite character.

I'm not really a fan of Kara, but even I know that killing her off would be pretty stupid. Most fans love her, and they spent too much time talking about her 'destiny' to kill her off. She'll be back, I have no doubt.

I think Kara will be back and as something that is neither human or Cylon. something, someone inbetween and I think that anything that blurs the line between human and cylon is a good thing, and I think that is the point of what will happen to Kara. At least IMHO. I think that has been the point of a lot of the series so far. I think its a forgone conclusion that Kara will be back, the question is as what.

The questions that are left un-answered:

1. Leoben said he wasn't Leoben, so was he just a manifestation of Kara's subconsious or something else? Something like head six?
2. Was there really a Cylon raider. It didn't show up on Kara's gun camara, was it her imagination or something else?


Plus: I was kind of psyched for the following Sharon and Helo bits we got:

1. Hera is having nightmares are they because of what happen to the little girl on CapII (Roslins fault) or are they something else. Could it be something of her nature.
2. Sharon was in on the analysis of Kara's gun video, which I think was cool, but tells me that when there are questions about the Cylons they come to Sharon.
3. Helo still has CIC duty, so what is Helo's job now. Its obvious that they move him around to where they need him. That's pretty cool . Does Adama like him in CIC to balance Tigh out.

There was a raider. Lee saw it. (Besides hearing him tell Galactica he saw it, you see from his POV Kara's ship as well as the Cylon in the same shot.)

Maybe thats how the Cylons get Kara, after she ejects she is picked up by the raider.

Besides, what was the entire point of the "destiny" storyline if they're going to kill her off? Nothing. (Besides, her hand was all over that eject handle.) Starbuck isn't dead.
