Fruits Basket: I want to share the glee

I found not only what constitutes the most awesome Fruits Basket MV, but what is probably my favorite anime MV period. If you don't want to watch/read Fruits Basket, about which I'll do a proper pimpin' post later, after seeing this, I despair :). FB is a manga and anime about a girl who ends up living with the cursed Sohma family (the curse is complicated but the most basic part of it is that those cursed turn into certain animals when hugged by a member of the opposite gender. Oh, and there is the fact that the head of the family is probably my most hated manga character ever and gets off on inflicted emotional torture and physical mistreatment on the other family members). FB funny and angsty and centers on our heroine, Tohru, who is cheerful and warm-hearted but has seen too much loss in her life, and two particular Sohma cousins: Yuki, the overly socialized "Prince Charming" and Kyo, the Sohma family outcast. Needless to say both boys are rather messed up and they glom onto Tohru as the first normal warm person they get to interact with.

(Yuki is the grey-haired, violet eyed one, and Kyo is the redhead).

You know, I was telling a friends about you earlier...I got as far as: Just fell in love with Fruits Basket, Kyo fangirl, loathes Akito, Trigun is her second favorite anime, and he was asking where you live.

He seemed to think the husband part was something he could work his way around until I mentioned he watched anime with you and bought you manga. Then he sulked and said all the good ones were already taken. Which would make me sad, except that he's known me so long I think he's forgotten that I'm a girl.

It amused me.

ROFL. I am flattered :) Actually, Trigun is my most favorite anime. FY is second and then Full Metal Panic (if you put all three together). Number four is Kenshin (yup, I am weird and do lists), Five is Peacemaker and six is Ceres tied with Ouran. After that it gets a bit fuzzy, with Escaflowne, Peach Girl and Cowboy Beebop jostling for the remaining top 10 spots. Though I am still working my way through Champloo and it will probably make into top 10.

Btw, I am rereading tha Hatori chapter in vol 2 and OMG. So freaking angsty. Though hello, Kana. I understand why you wigged out, but if our boyfriend had his eye poked out, he would probably appreciate your support and not your going mad with guilt. Kthnksbye. :)

ah, thought FY was first. Se, if I'd said Trigun was first, Mr. Mousie may have needed a guard.

I've never actually sat down and categorized my anime by favorites, which I know is odd as i do manga and doramas. I should...maybe soon...i plan to do a "All the anime I've watched" post on day.

And Kana...yeah, she could have handled it a llliiiiiiitttttttlllleeee bit better but I admit that not everyone can take that as well as Tohru could...and so far, no one has gotten an eye poked out for being her friend. *eyes Akito*(though he likes to beat up and hospitalize the female cousins his male cousins like)

Sigh..I wish I could remember what volume Ayame shows up in...I have an Ayame icon...not uploaded ATM, but if you remember it, it's the "you know you love me" one.

See, Akito, sometimes, it's because he is mentally ill, and if what he did was JUST because of that and he was nice, or even just moody, otherwise, I could sympathize with him. But the thing is, on his good days he's still emotionally, verbally and physically abusive. But he's hospitalized 2 of his female cousins(one of whom is only 11 or 12...MAYBE 13, but I don't think so) because a male cousin dared to care about someone besides him, and he abuses Tohru because she makes his cousins feel worthwhile. Then there's the fact that I'm fairly sure he forces male cousins to have a physical relationship with him. That's largely only somewhat implied, but heavily implied with a character who hasn't shown up yet(and won't for a while, but is OTP w/ Uotani, Tohru's ex-gangster friend)

And OMG, I love Uotani, she is awesome! I love how she scares the Yuki fanclub. She is like Makino to exponential power :D Or Shigeru, if I liked Shigeru.

Well, like I said, it's never stated, but once you see him interact with his other cousins, you wonder. It may just be a "Staking his claim" thing, but...yeah...it may not be complete, but I'm sure there's at least some of that.

Uo and Hana(thier much easier to type nicknames) are both awesome. The funny thing is, if I hadn't been a Kyo/Tohru girl from the start, I could easily ship him with either of them.

Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying reading your posts...knowing what's ahead of you in the series. It has me chuckling and thinking "Oh just wait..."
Have you seen the Hatori/Kana video to the song from Edward Scissorhands? That one brings tears. *sniffle* There are a lot of good Furuba vids, actually.
(And awww...I forgot I took off my Yuki icon. Now I want it back. But Shigure works!)

It is really really good and choice of music v.v. appropriate. There is actually a huge amount of Hatori/Kana vids on youtube, which is you consider it was only one chapter in the manga, is pretty awesome (aka I am not the only crazy one).
