Hotaru No Hikari: even more awesome than the fact that genetics allow for Fujiki Naohito's hotness

Romatic Princess was cute but didn't hold my attention so I started the jdrama I planned to start for a while, Hotaru No Hikari.

YOU GUYS THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING IN EXISTENCE.

I am an ep in, and I defy anyone, no matter how down, bored, or just plain grumpy, to not emerge out of this without a grin on their face, and feeling warm and wonderful.

Ayase Haruka is so funny and so gorgeous, and I adore her bossy, oddball, messy Hotaru who makes up her own words, drinks beer for breakfast and goes giddy over a kiss by a handsome crush (Other Guy, who is hot and cool at the same time). Fujiki Naohito is just as good as he was in Itoshi Kimi E (and as gorgeous) only this time he is making me grin and not bawl. His Takano is all taken-aback, sweet-natured perfectionist of adorkableness. Both of them have so much adorableness, I just might explode.

GUUUUUH. I just might fall into HnH coma and never emerge, I love it THIS much.

Yay, Hotaru no Hikari. I was kind of confused by why they make such a big deal about her wearing sweatpants at home, haha. This drama is definitely pure cute <3.

LOL, I think it was a part of being a total slob, at twenty-something! And especially since she didn't stop when a guy moved in. Not only a guy, but a single guy who is also her boss. Heeeee.

Same here, never finished Romantic Princess because it didn't keep me interested.

Watched Hotaru no Hikari and loved it. I first wanted Ayase to get with the other guy because his stare was so impressive but then I shipped Fujiki Naohito with Ayase because it made sense. The drama does a great job on their relationship by not making it too obvious. They grow but not together. They grow parallel but not so intertwined that I think it is all about love love. Do I make sense???

HnH is so fun. The other guy is quite cute (and the kiss was perfection) but I can't help but root for FN because he is...FN. Can't wait to see how it develops.

I have watched this far too many times already as i finish it in about 2 evenings... and I constantly catch the BOYFRIEND whistling the theme tune everytime he thinks i'm not paying attention! ROFL!!!

I knew you would love this!!!! Hotaru is so awesome: she's a slob, doesn't care about clothes, naps under newspapers, and would rather drink beer at home than go on group dates.

The other guy is okay, but there are some hilarious scenes later where we really see how they don't fit together.

Also, I am pleased to observe, in the brief FN shirtless scene, that while he is definitely slim, unlike JE boys he looks neither concave nor in need of an intervention in the form of a ham sandwich. It was a pleasant shock.

I'm so happy you're watching this~! :D It's currently my favorite jdrama ♥♥♥ I LOVE every character (and the actors/actresses who played them as well hehe) I watch this over and over and never get tired.
