There is a scene in episode 11 of Hello My Teacher which involves Tae-In and hundreds of roses, and Bori's door that...that...that...that

I have no words.

I was smiling and literally squealing and just...

It's things like that which ruin girls for normal dating world according to concerned moralists. I mean, what normal dating experience will compare with Gong Yoo in his sexy black shirt buying out the entire flower store, driving up on his motorcycle to your doorway in the middle of the night, and to make you feel better (because you just broke up with your bf, and he held you as you cried during the day), he spends the night decorating your doorway with hundreds and hundreds of roses. Like a living garden. And then he takes his scissors, left-over stems, and his cut up hands, and drives away.

OMG. OMG.

So since I am out of words, I bring you pics instead (eps 10-11).

In ep 10 he is all excited because it looks like Arts Teacher might go for the ex and goes to buy flowers:

LOL. And later there is an adorable scene where he basically invites himself over for dinner:

Only thing she knows how to cook is instant ramen. Heee.

But he doesn't care because he is giddy because she is cooking for him:

And plus he can go and look around her room!

He is such a dork!

Sees a pic with him it on the wall:

Smelling her perfume:

Dinner is totally adorable:

She gives him more food:

And that is why I adore Bori:

Has washing up ever been as fun?

They did conclude Jo-Pil and Da-In's story satisfactorily! Yay! I take back my only quibble with ep 9. Awwww, he did come through OK! Plus, I am a sucker for poor emo boy and cute girl who brings in the boy's kitten to visit him. EEEE. I am so easy.

After Bori broke it up with Arts Teacher, Tae-In is stopping AT:

And off they ride together:

And she keeps crying:

And she walks away but he stops her. It was such a gorgeous scene:

And pulls her into a hug. I love how this is shot from very far away and then keeps pulling in closer:

He comes home and remembers holding her. I don't care if some of these pics are repeats. This is one of my fave scenes ever:

Poor Bori is way down, but I love her blankets:

And we get to the scene that made me incoherent! Oh Tae-In!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(side note: I know why they keep Gong Yoo in uniform most of the time. When he is dressed in 'normal' clothes, it's even more evident that he is not 19. He was what, 28 in Korean years when he did this?)

cut his fingers :(

Oh. My. God.

Mandatory evil bitch has actually turned out quite OK after a rough patch of bitchiness in the beginning (and I cut her slack for that because she is what? 17?) and the Dad is awful but happily a minor character.

So yeah, I highly rec.

Actually Gong Yu turns 29 this year, so he was 25 when he did Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy. :)

I knew he was born in 1979 so he was either 25 or 26 doing this (didn't know when his birthday was so didn't know which of the two). But isn't Korean years a year or two up from Western style? They keep referring to students here and in Goong as 19 but I don't think they mean 19, do they?

I am totally amused that the Bori actress is younger than him, though.

This is helping enormously (HMT is going into my all time faves list) but I still need HGD subs!

This is too cute to bear.

Oh, and another reason they keep Gong Yoo in uniform: he looks damn hot wearing it! ;)

I remember when I first started watching this I couldn't decide who I wanted Bori to end up with--the student or the teacher. (Forgive me my foolishness, this was before I knew who Gong Yoo was, lol). Anyway, that flower scene is what finally helped me make up my mind. I mean, who *couldn't* choose Tae-In after that?! ^_^

Plus, I really obsessed over this when it was airing. I even went so far as to join the subbing group so I could get sneak-peeks at the subs ahead of time... I would have gladly helped out, of course, but all the episodes for this were already claimed by the time I joined... so yes, I understand your affection for this drama. It's my favorite teacher-student one (not to say I've seen that many, lol).

This is so so awesome.

I don't mind the teacher but he is so passive! Bori would walk all over him after they got married!

I actually like Arts Teacher guy. He just has that steady, nice guy vibe to him (which, ok, next to Tae-in is OTP fodder) but I do think that he is sincere in liking Bo-Ri. But they've got issues...
His ex on the OTOH...I was yelling at Art Teacher to just tell the Psycho Bitch to get out of his face already. She's like a more heartless version of Jem Ma. At least Jem Ma liked Tae In and only Tae In. Every time AT's ex put Bo-Ri down, I wanted to take a crowbar to her face.
But this show is great. Gong Yoo can really bring on the pretty when he cries.

I found Arts Teacher too passive but ehhh...as far as secondary guys go, I've seen worse.

But yeah, Psycho Bitch was awful. UGH.

I think this just might be my fave Gong Yoo performance.
