LOLOLOLOL. You know Hello My Teacher that I am loving at the moment? Well, I know Gong Yoo wasn't 19 when he did that, and I looked it up and he was 26. Heeeee. No wonder I am finding him cute. Also, even more amusing? The actress for Bori? The one who is supposed to be six years older than him? She is actually a year younger than he is. So she was playing her RL age and he wasn't. Heeee. Seriously. That is so amusing.

Also, I looked up the voice actors, and if the listing is correct, Yuki is done by the same lady who did Tohru from Furuba and Zero by the guy who voiced Kiba in Wolf's Rain. Hmmmm. I like their voices a lot. (I didn't recognize any of Kaname voice actor's animes).

While looking for this, I also came on spoilers for latest volumes which evoked a lot of tl:dr from self.



So Kaname and Yuki are SIBLINGS?!?!?!!!!! Whaaaaaa? But not real but adopted or with some other relation? Which Kaname knows (about the not real part) but Yuki doesn't (believes they are blood siblings). Whaaaaaa?????

BUT BUT BUT BUT apparently they are also engaged as in pure-blood families siblings marry? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! (So thus Yuki's erroneous belief that there is a blood relation, not just adoptiveness, doesn't matter).

OK, if I didn't have bad/wrong vibes with Yuki/Kaname before (which I did), I certainly do now. The HELL!!!! Do they really expect anyone to ship Yuki/Kaname? I do not get. At all. She doesn't have to end up (or even get together) with Zero but whatever else, Yuki/Kaname is so sick in so many ways.

Because I didn't get enough of a "yuck, must puke now" reaction to anything vaguely resembling Kaname/Yuki(or really, Kaname in general) when I was reading it...

Exactly. Kaname/Yuki was squicky in 17 different ways before, but after this? I would be genuinely mad if they ended up being the OTP. Not 'ehhh, I prefer the other one but not my canon.' No, genuinely upset, which almost never happens. Because that's disgusting.

In all honestly, I had to force myself to finish vol 3. I was just so squicked out and revolted by the IDEA that I should find it attractive or "ok" or vaguely view him as a viable love interest that I could barely read it.

I am not as far 'gone' as you, in the sense of not standing Kaname, but I have zero interest in him (heeee. zero. pun. am lame). And am now beginning to be squicked out. I would feel a lot better if I knew he didn't get the girl, for sure.

Even in the first volume, my strongest feeling on Kaname was "PEDOPHILE ALERT! PEDOPHILE ALERT!"

Then there was the theme among the vampires that she was his personal property...not as someone to be taken care of, even, but a possession without free will...and, yeah. If I knew how it ended up, I'd probably be OK, but as it is...

But yes, the thing is, with Zero/Yuki I get the sense of equals but with K/Y it's like an indulgent master with a puppy, or someone with a toy.

I will go all sorts of messed up in OTPs and relationships in general, but I have limits, and K/Y far exceeds them.

I just read this in wiki and now I definitely DO feel sick:

"In Chapter 35, Kaname bites Yuki and then bites himself in order for Yuki to drink his blood and awake, in fact Yuki and Kaname are brother and sister. Their mother, Juri, erased Yuki memories so she could live like a normal human and could be safe. In Chapter 36, it is revealed that Yuki was born to be Kaname's wife."

I like his design too. Some people were complaining Kaname wasn't as hot as in the manga or whatever, but since I can't stand Kaname, I don't mind.

Honestly I don't find Kaname's design that hot in the manga, and that's not even being biased about his personality. I NEVER thought he looked that good. Maybe I just expected more out of a mangaka who I know can draw drop dead gorgeous men (hello, Jeile and Aram). He's got a bit of a mullet in the manga and his personality certainly doesn't make up for the blase character design.

Kaname's design always just struck me as "generic pretty bishie"

Which, granted, a lot of the hot ones are like that...but they have nice personailty traits to get them past it.
