dangermousie: (LJK by abstractcandy)

I have found my newest favorite drama MV. The below MV for the OTP of Time Between Dog and Wolf, one of my favorite dramas from last year, starring Lee Jun Ki and Nam Sang Me:

The song's lyrics are scarily appropriate to the OTP and the image cuts are awesome. It's also not really spoilery.

It's funny, because the OTP of D/W ended up being one of my favorites since D/W is not a romance drama. It is actually awesome in large part because it does have a complicated clever plot about mobs, and family histories, and dyfunction, and double agents. But what can I say? I am sucker and the OTP was a huge part of the reason I loved this so. I loved the OTP of beyond messed-up special arent Lee Su-Hyun and the seeminly normal art curator Soo Ji Woo, who were childhood friends, and whose relationship is so impossible on so many levels and for so many reasons, starting with plot-spoilery and ending with the fact that Su-Hyun is too screwed up for words. SH is in the running for the most messed-up drama hero ever. Multiple suicide attempts, a severe case of PTSD, and some frelled-up background would do it to you. And yet Ji Woo is totally Su-Hyun's little corner of sanity, and he is someone she comes fully alive with. Add to it some awesome kissing scenes, a sexual tension so present you could cut it with a knife, her literally covering him with her body in order to protect him, and his breakdown on having to push her away to protect her, hell of a lot of forgiveness, and more staring than at a non-blinking contest, and you got the OTP I adore.

Go watch!

Plus, I don't think LJK has ever looked hotter.

I just finished watching the 2nd episode of this! It looks really good and Lee Joon Ki almost, almost looks like an full grown man. I like his wardrobe much more here than I did in My Girl.

From what you wrote I'm guessing the triangle between the three doesn't last very long? I get that someone needs to be That Guy Who Never Stood a Chance, but I like Min Ki and Soo Hyun's relationship and from just that scene at the gun range it looks like it might die a horrible death before this is over. Plus, it makes little narrative sense to me. Like, how does Min Ki find out his brother and the girl have met before and NOT just tell Soo Hyun to date her? He's met her twice now? And suddenly she's so important to him that he gets all emo about it? But then again, I've only watched two episodes so maybe I'm getting worked up for nothing. Maybe?

LOL. He does look much more manly.

Re: triangle. It both does and doesn't. (To explain more would be very spoilery). But yes, Minki and Su Huyn actually remain brothers through to the end because whatever else that relationship trumps everything else for them (as it should).

I do think Minki has an inferiority complex towards Su Hyun: SH is seemingly much more together and successful and groomed for cool job etc etc. He doesn't realize (yet) what a total mess that pretend control covers.

Once again, it's the haircut! And the really well cut suits.

Ok, I've seen the 3rd episode and a preview for the fourth, so I think I get it about the triangle. So happy that they don't turn on each other over the love interest. That usually makes me hate everyone involved.

Yeah, when Min Ki was like, "you've outmatched me at everything in life, but it never bothered me because you were my friend," it was obvious that he must have thought about it a lot and really made a decision not to be jealous. I wonder how much of his seemingly total lack of ambition is due to knowing Su Hyun would always be better and how much is just his own personality. I do love that he's actually good at his job, though.

Mmmm...I love suits in dramas. Unlike a lot of other fashion, they always look good.

Yup, once he finally gets his work niche, he is excellent at it. I think he is less driven simply because he is less messed up. And I think he loses any residual envy when he realizes just how screwed up SH truly is.

OMG</> on MV.

Love the music, love the clip. Your previous kissing picspam were nice, but this MV is making me want to watch D/W like NOW.

Gaaaaah, why can't this quarter be over with already?!?!

Eeeee, I am SO looking forward to this.

D/W MV is totally making me almost want my RL to be a kdrama.

Yay!

Mission accomplished.

But I don't think you want to be the heroine of this particular kdrama, what with dodgy family and a boyfriend, who while hot and awesome, is also in need of a full time shrink.

LOL, I know. I don't think I could stand dating someone like LJK's character in RL. I would be angsting all over the place and need my own shrink.

But you could pool your money with him and go to the same shrink and save :)
