OK, I was reading on soompi that Lee Jun Ki is losing weight for his upcoming drama Iljimae (about historical robber-type person). Whaaaa? How? Why? *flails unhappily* I mean, he was totally FINE in Time Between Dog and Wolf and unless he parked himself in an all-you-can-eat joint since then, does not need to lose any weight at all. WTF? I don't want him to turn into Korean Kame. Argh. WTF????

Speaking of historical robber-type people who look positively scrumptuous, I am still obsessed with Hong Gil Dong and in absence of subs for eps 7 and 8 have taken to haunting the Soompi thread for HGD. It so gets better with each ep, doesn't it?

I loved all the interactions between the Prince and Yi Nok in ep 6. He saved her from creepy creepy Lady Noh (it says some unflattering things that she is his subordinate).

Of course, as a result of everything in ep 6, Gil Dong is set on an even more of a collision course with the Prince, but that is not what I want to talk about. I adored the bit where GD asked YN to go to China with him. He was so vulnerable! Or when she fell asleep on his shoulder. Or YN being jealous of the fancy, well-educated EunChae who GD hung out with. I love them.

This drama is very good at balancing the funny and the angsty.

Some caps (from soompi):

I have not really started on any drama, because I am still under the total thrall of Legend and so can't really concentrate (nor want to). So instead I spent some time catching up on Bull-Fighting, which is very much my [livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow(tm) drama: I don't care for most of the characters, and the emo amuses me, and so does the crack. It is very popcorn-enjoyable though.

I have progressed from utter loathing of the heroine (seriously, before, I had a few heroines I didn't care for, but I never loathed one before) to just plain not caring about her. I think this mellowing out is due to more sleep making me less cranky.

Still, I would not mind if she fell into a well and drowned so I amuse myself by making slash scenarios of the two male leads. The drama makes it awful easy:

Getting into each other's space:

Maybe the heroine is a yaoi fangirl?

Heh.

Friends approve:

'Don't leave me!'

Fangirls love boy/boy declarations of lurve:

I am pleased to learn Mob Enforcer Guy (my favorite character, the only one I actually like) gets an OTP of his own eventually, instead of just continuing to pine over useless heroine. Whoever his chick is, she can't be as bad as the heroine, so yay.

And I close with this adorable Legend gif. How could you not love them?

Mike He looks concerningly feminine in a lot of those pics. That is all.

Yes he does. Which makes the slashiness even more amusing.

After seeing Mike He in Yukan Club, I have concluded that he needs to go back to Japan and get his eyebrows done!

I've been watching HGD too after totally appreciating Kang Ji Hwan in 90 days to love. It was the first drama in a long time that I was dying for every week. I can't wait for this week's episodes. Would you like me to do some kind of picspam or summary on lj or are you waiting for subs and not spoiling yourself?
Someone made icons in soompi for HGD by the way, in the drama thread for HGD.

I have 90 days but am terrified to watch it because I don't want him to angst.

Have you see Capital Scandal? He was amazing in it, and prior to Legend, it was my favorite kdrama.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd love it! And eee, icons!

I am in love with HGD! The plot is good and the characters are great. Subs are out for episodes 7-8, so I'll be watching them tomorrow. There was a lot of interesting developments in episodes 9-10, so I cannot wait until next week.

The Hong sisters really know how to write a drama. Though, I will admit to one thing: I find their dramas tend to get 'draggy' in the middle. But, most dramas do.

Also - after episodes nine and ten, I really cannot stand the second female lead.

HGD is lovely indeed (I've seen six eps and don't hate secondary girl yet, but there is always time).

I didn't think My Girl dragged in the middle. DGCH did a little but I didn't mind overall as it was so awesome...

I felt the time jump was unneeded, as it felt like nothing had really changed. A smaller time jump would have been better.

I thought it was to show that they still loved each other etc even after all this time, but I confess a huge fondness for time jumps as a plot devise :)

Time jumps can be good, I agree. Then there are those Korean-drama-2/5-year time jumps that are just. . . there. I think I'm a bit bitter about the My Girl hump, because Ahn Jin-kyu (Yoo-rin's dorky guyfriend) and Yoon Jin-kyung (Gong-chan's PA) didn't really get together. They were my secondary character/dorky!OTP, darn it.

They didn't? I am a bad fan, because I am blanking because I sort of found them funny but ffed through their scenes :)

No, they were sort of stuck in the same place of meeting everyday when she went off to lunch. You should have watched them! They were adorkable and awkward.
