dangermousie: (Capital Scandal by Fleur on soompi)

Graaaaargh.

I was going to get some yummy screencaps of Jumong but the YA DVDs are protected and my GOM or my MPC players can't play them. Argh. It's not on jdramas either, and I don't want a complicated dl like I'd get with clubbox or torrents just to cap. So no caps for Jumong. Grrrr.

But to ease the pain a little, I bring you this awesome OTP mv. If you don't want to watch the drama after this, I despair of you:

And to cheer you up:

Love your dramas period, with a bit of history, but aren't fond of swords? I have a drama for you: Capital Scandal (Also known as Scandal in the Capital), a kdrama set in the 1930s. 10 eps are out and first 8 have been subbed.

A love story with a dash of politics (as Korea is occupied by Japan) and mystery, CS follows the story of a deliberately apolitical man and an idealistic young woman. He makes a bet that he can win her affections but finds himself slowly falling for her.

YES.

The cinematography, costumes, and chemistry are all out of this world.

you left out the part where, like Damo, Capital Scandal is nice and short(actually, isn't it also 14 eps?) So nice that not ALL period kdramas are umpteen billion eps long.

I've been wondering what that icon was from. I love the ones that have what looks like a bit of sepia or aged photo toning to them.

I think it's 16-20 but yeah, you are right, it's fairly short.

And yup, that icon is from capital scandal...

it sounds perfect for me...period mystery/intrigue/romance. and i adore 20s-40s clothes.

i'm so glad that, unlike japan, korea and china put out multiple period dramas of varying lengths a year(course, only 3~ for korea and 30 or so for china, but...)

The bit I;ve seen of it looks good.

And there is a reason I prefer kdramas/tw/cdramas to jdramas :)

heh. I think it largely depends on what kind of show it is for me: Kdramas tend to do epic and angst best, twdramas wacky, jdramas quirky and "life," cdramas fantasy, etc. TVB is like this hybrid of them all(and I think I'm coming to like the TVB variety of crack best...a combo of the TW insanity and j non-stop bulldozer)

I am yet to see a period drama yet because I've always been scared away by the length(DJG looks good but umm..54 episodes? As if I have the time...)...I want to watch a sweet 'n' short drama...this looks good:P

I will see if I can find it. BTW does it have a happy ending?! Just asking...?

First ep is on jdramas (more to follow), the rest has links on soompi. No idea about the ending as it's still airing but it does look light so likely happy.

Jumong is actually 81, I found out.

But it's not stopping me. It's soooo good. I am on ep 8 and it's just getting better every day and Jumong's steep learning curve is amazing and...aaaaah!

Seriously, mad love.
